Let me answer the length questions first: It is based on multiples of 6 (or chain desired length of chain making sure it is divisable by the number 6).... Alls you have to do is make your beginning chain shorter and make sure it is divisable by 6 (160, 120, 132, etc).

Petal Question: Anytime you make changes to a pattern you MUST MUST MUST make a gauge swatch, there is no way around it. By changing the stitch you change EVERYTHING about the pattern including the size. Of course you can just guess but be prepared because it may not turn out like you wanted but again you can take a chance and it may turn out EXACTLY like you wanted.

Hi, heres to hoping I got this in the right section! I am inquiring about the Newlywed Shawl. Beautiful work! I am trying to figure out the 3rd row beginning. For the life of me I cannot figure out where to start and what the sl to ch 1, ch 1 stuff means. I know what that means...but...huh what does that mean? lol. I have taken three pics of where I think I may need to be starting on this row, different spots. Is it possible to upload pics here to get help? Or...can I email someone the pics...I will even set up a temp site with the pics...just to find out where this row starts. I am a girl determined. lol. Help!

Hi all,
Thought I would tell you all I saw one of these up close. Someone I work with bought one from the original designer. The yarn is a really neat texture, it goes from almost a fine thread to a nobby almost homespun look.

Hi Eva,
I just wanted to let you know that I have made your shawl pattern and it really turned out beautiful! Now I have to make alot more because all my employees want one! I made mine in Red Hearts "wheat" plush. I am new to the forum, but I am enjoying reading all of the posts and look forward to seeing more of your patterns!

I need help. I have been trying to work the flower stitch shawl with a crochet hook size M, thinking the pattern would be larger (and faster to make), but the triangle comes out lopsided. One side comes out neatly spaced, but the other side appears stretched out and narrow.

This has really got me baffled, it seems row 3 is too short, or row 2 is too long. Do you know a solution? I guess I could try another swatch leaving out the sc on row 2. This doesn't seem to make sense according to above message about making the double trebles longer and adding a sc for extra yo. Any ideas?

Hi, I am new to forum and trying a post again. I am working this shawl with a size "m" hook and getting this lopsided triangle thing. I thought I would leave off the sc after the 2 dtr's, but it is still lopesided. Anybody know what the scoop is on this? Seems one side is stretched out and the other side nicely shaped. Thanks. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
