I was thinking about this when I saw that Melina and Nitro are moving to Raw. The only teams on SD, besides The Gymini, are cruiser teams who may very well end up on ECW. So the question is, in an ideal world where the WWE actually cares about the tag championship(s), what should they do with the WWE Tag Team Championship?

Currently we have:

London and Spanky (c)
The Gymini
The Mexicools (ECW?)
Kash & Noble (ECW?)
Funaki & Scotty2Hotty

Now that MNM have gone ka-boom (for whatever reasons), what do you think the WWE should do with the tag titles on SD?

I went with the OVW option, but I would have chosen option 2 as well if I could.

It seems to me that there is only one major promotion offering good tag team action, and that is TNA. And I'm not just saying that. They regulary show one or two good Tag Team matches on their show, usually between long well esptablished Tag Teams.

When I first started watching wrestling, it was the Tag Team matches that really got my interest. I don't understand why WWE thinks we don't want them anymore. Maybe that should be the poll. Do we want to see Tag Team wrestling thesedays or not? Put my vote down for "Yes".

I have no problem building new teams out of singles just as long as they are not just thrown together. Give us a bone and give us a nice build up to it. The talent is already there with established characters. Better that than trying to push green workers up quick and letting unused singles fade into nothingness.

I think they should merge into one tag belt and be allowed to defend it on either show. I think that all of the wrestlers should be able to wrestle both shows and no longer be brand specific. Go to one World Title, one tag team title, the Intercontinental title and the U.S. heavyweight title. Also the cruiser weight title and they should have a cruiser weight tag title.

If you still want to be brand specific then still merge the World Title and tag title and have all of the champions with their respective belts be challenged on both shows.

OR....

If someone on Raw is the champ, i.e. Cena then he can defend it on Raw until a Smackdown wrestler wins it. When that happens then that person can defend it on SD until someone from Raw comes over and wins it and do this with all of the championships and arrange it that there are one or two championships on both brands at the same time. For example: you can have a World Champ and a tag team champ on Raw while the Intercontinental and U.S titles are on SD.

Same with the cruiserweight. You can mix or match them how you like as long as there is a champ of some sort on both brands.

I agree with Tik, I love tag wrestling, hence why I did this silly poll (what a process, geez!!). And I also concur with the comments about TNA's tag division. I would like to see The Naturals as a force again, every time I see them they're getting beaten up. But otherwise you have AMW, Team Canada (in various forms), The Naturals, LAX, The James Gang, Team 3d, Diamonds in the Rough, and I'm hanging out for AJ and Chris Daniels to stay as a tag-team for a little while, at least.

Out of curiosity, Se7en and others, if you were to pick two singles wrestlers to put together, with a storyline/purpose, who would it be? I said Hardy and Moore simply because of the V1 days, but who else is possible?

And I also agree with mad, I voted to have the belts combined. And have them defended on both shows like they were apparently planning with the women's belt.

I think merge the belts. There'a big lack of tag teams - certainly not enough to warrant two sets of belts.

I think they should merge the belts too. Rather that than just create more random teams with no meaning. eg scotty2hotty & funaki.

It's a shame MNM had to be split up, they were one of the best tag teams we've had for some time.

And Snitsky and Goldust! Can't forget that red hot team.lol

I think there is plenty of room for tag teams to be made from guys just warming the bench. Hardy and Moore would be a good team. After all, they aren't doing anything else. Though I did see Heyman "scouting" Hardy and he would be excellent in ECW.

I have no problem with the smaller guys holding the belts. I also have no problem with them having just one set of tag team belts. There is no reason for two.

They could have all the tag teams on one show or have the belt float around from show to show.

Just...no more twins. I am so sick of the twin switch angle. Argh.

Also no more Animal and random guys as a team.

I think there could be at least 5 solid teams made from either up and coming guys or guys who have nothing to do. Simon Dean can do more than look dumb on a scooter. Get him a partner! Davairi is more than just a talker...get him a partner!! Hardy, please do SOMETHING with him. Cade and Murdoch...put them back together. Corny, yes. A team, well, yeah. Eventually the Spirit Squad will break up and at least one or two tag teams will emerge for a while.

But I agree, no random pairings of guys who hate each other or who have no reason whatsoever to be tagging. I actually liked Regal and Burchill. I love both of them and they work well together.

The tag team division can be saved but WWE is trying to kill it, it seems.
