I am particularly interested in autism spectrum disorders since I have been raising my autistic grandson since he was 1-year old. He is now seven and the light of my life. He is what gives my life meaning. He is the dearest person on this earth and is a blessing to my life. Many of the characterisics seen on All My Children are so true regarding autistic children. The best part of the character "Lilly" is that she is educating many people on autism. While they can only cover a few things at a time, it is nice to see how "gentle" they can be with the character. Autism is a dreaded condition and, rightly so. OLTL gives people hope that an autistic child can live a somewhat "normal" life. Hopefully viewers are learning from the character and ABC will continue to view autism with grace, respect and the empathy it deserves.
