I was at the hunter/jumper show this weekend when I saw a rider viciously whip his mount in the neck when it refused a jump. I was so angry.
I also recently saw a post on another message board that a horse needed a "good beating" because it was not performing as wished.
I am so saddened that people still think hitting a horse improves its rideability in any way.
