My blue betta is sick, it started with a lil swolen on his neck (looks cute at first cuz I thought he just ate too much or smth, then I read online and I realized he's not suppose to be fat) and now it's aleady 1/3 of his body is swollen. I'm afraid the swollwn will go through his whole body. he seems to have a little bit difficulty to swim as fast:( I tried to give him the bettafix remedy (it says can heal swollen betta) but doesn't seem to work. This is my first time having a pet fish, I'm so sad.... what can I do? help me, pleaseee...

If he is swollen to the point that his scales stick out like a pine cone, it might be too late for him. Keep him comfortable with clean water and bettafix and hope for the best.

If he's just fat and his scales aren't sticking out, stop feeding him for at least 3 days, then try giving him a little peice of a thawed out pea to give him a little roughage, as he may be constipated. How much do you feed him? 3-5 pellets daily is about what should be given to the average betta. If you are feeding anything more than this, it is likely that is the problem, and fasting him for a few days should fix the problem. Hope it works!

Thank you so much for the response, his scales are sticking out already:( I realized I think its too late for him too:( And I think he knows that too as he moves/run around d water a lot these last few days, I think he's trying to have fun u know... I don't know but I hope he's happy. Ive been giving him the salt, bettafix and I tried not to give him food for 3 days, but he didnt get any better. When I realized that he is sick it his scales already stickin out by then. When he was just fast (before hs scales were stickin out) i thought he's pregnant (i was soo stupid i thought he was a female betta has he has a lil short tales, 'twas my first time taking care of bettas and my other betta's tale is longer *i have 2 bettas* and my friend told me the shorter tail's female...omg soo stoopied) or simply fat, i was happy cuz i thought he looks cute fat like that, but then i realized that he's not suppose to be fat, then i realized that he;s sick:( ohh what can i do? he looks better than ever though, running thru d water and i put him beside my other betta and he looks so playfull so cute... so poor lil guy... what can i do? I feed him twice a day, is that ok?

For all the readers, just lettn u knw miracle (my poor betta) died yesterday afternoon <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> So sad. and I went to santa monica beach today to drowned him in the sea, (i put him in a coffin box that I made for him and then I put some stones and sands in the ziplock plastic together with the coffin and stoopied me I locked the plastic so the water couldnt go in) so it floated and didnt drown. I didnt know what to do. cuz I plunged him into the sea on the pier, so i cant go into the water and pick him up again. and seems like he's going towards the beach. But I dont know cuz the distance between the pier and the sea's kinda far and u know the wind sea keep changing. I had to leave him to check on the car, but when i came back i couldnt find him anymore around there:( I hope if somebody find him (on the beach or something), he/she will be nice enough to put him back into the sea and not throw him into the trash:( please help me pray for him so that he will finally drown in the sea for whatever reason possible. thanks you guys...

I burried my betta when he died with my other pets I had. =( And put a little stone to mark where he is so I don't accidently try to plant anything there.

I'm sorry your fishy died. I hope no one threw him in the trash =( I yelled at my mommy to not throw Butch in the toilet when he died. Luckly, she understood.
