How often do you think about your weight? Using percentages tell us how much positive and negative.

OMG!! Terrible subject matter, but needless to say at least once a day. Putting this into a percentage would be hard because I may think about my weight for a fleeting moment and other days I obsess about it.

Every stinking day...but I'm pregnant and losing weight so I'm suppsoed to be thinking about it.

Aside from being preg I hoenstly admit I thought about it almsot daily, and not in a good way but not reaching the point of being obsessive.

As I grow older and become wiser (ha!) I think less and less negatively. I am trying to think more in a line of "well, let's concentrate on being healthy first and let the weight follow".

It usually works and then every once in a while the bonehead husband will try to be helpful and say "I think you have an eating and laziness problem" and it goes back downhill. I know he's not saying the things tpo be mean, he really is trying to help, but he has no idea what he's doing.

I do NOT want my children growing up obsessing about their weight so I realize I dont want them seeing me do it.

I weigh myself every morning. I am afraid my life rotates around the bathroom scales. If I put on weight I watch what I eat.

I'm on my scale everyday - sometimes twice!

Even after having the gastric bypass my weight is always on my mind. I don't think I will ever be comfortable with my weight. I will always worry about it. I suffered from anorexia in high school because I was so concious about my weight. Obviously I got over that!

But if I ever do manage to hit my goal weight, I know I will constantly be worrying about every pound every day.

Ok Girls - time for a reality check -

Having great self-esteem, work that I love, great health, a rich inner life and an incredible man who adores me, I honestly only think about it when someone else brings it up.

I personally focus on HEALTH and inner/mental/spiritual wellness above all.

It simply isn't a priority in a world where we should ALL be more concerned about surviving terrorist maniacs, ending world poverty, global warming and soaring energy prices.

I realize that one's weight can be a health concern, but beyond each individual's health and well-being, if we could concentrate on LIVING instead of obsessing on how we LOOK doing it, perhaps real beauty would outshine a SIZE or an NUMBER on the scale.

Some Ideas for Change:

What if we all got fixated on spreading the word about Real Beauty to one girl below 20 yrs old a week?

What if we each addictively volunteered an hour a month at a soup kitchen or women's shelter?

What if we all compulsively gave a stranger (big or small, short or tall) a SINCERE compliment each day?

What if we all obsessed about ending bad body image, instead?

something to think about.....hmmmm
