I just saw "Children of Men" yesterday, out in a packed Christmas Day theater. It was incredibly powerful and I was really impressed with this one! Clive Owen was amazing and Michael Caine is really funny. A very real and yet fantastical story, heavy but I didn't walk out of the movie in a bummer.
I just watched Memoirs of a Geisha. I put it off thinking it would be way too much but the 2 1/2 hours went by surprisingly fast. No subtitles either! <img src="/images/graemlins/music.gif" alt="" />
1408. For a King movie it was excellent, and the fact that John Cusack was in it didn't exactly hurt.
Only he could convincingly play a brooding jerk, one who goes completely bonkers for a while mind you, and still be an absolute heartthrob without distracting from the film.

I caught "Matters of Life & Dating" on Lifetime the other night. It was so great! Ricki Lake is a good actress, IMO, and the story line was very captivating. I know people that have battled breast cancer and have had had to have a mastectomy so this movie was personally touching.
I really haven't been to the movies in such a long time. But I do catch movies that are TV. Lifetime is always good for an uplifting story. I think the Fantasia Barrino story is on tonight. Might just have to indulge.
The last movie I saw in the theater was Juno. Very good movie. The last one I saw on TV was last night when I watched "No One Would Tell" on Lifetime. Candace Cameron from Full House and Fred Savage from The Wonder Years were the stars so I was reminded of my younger years .
