Hello! I have only made soap once before...and I all I did was use the block of glycerin you get from Michael's/craft stores. I added a little color and swirled it..cookie cutter to add shape and bingo, soap. I didn't get to use any since I have all 12 soaps as little Valentine's gifts...so I have no idea how plain or non working or awful they were?
Now...I don't want to get all complicated and buy a ton of random things, but I would like to know if I can continue using the simple soap block way...but adding only one or 2 things to make it 1. have rich lather...or 2. milky. I figured I would see if anyone had any help for me before I tried to just pour 2% milk into my soap. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
One last thing..if I wanted to make my soap smell like my personal perfume...can I spray some of my perfume in the soap...or am I breaking rule #1?
Thanks for any help!!

hi manda you can use the block or you should be able to buy soapflakes which you add water too! i use both the later gives a harder bar takes about two weeks to dry totally but foams wonderfully also generally veg based
if you want to add milk i would use powdered as this wont curdle or make your soap go bad coconut is also a good one!
it is not a good idea to add your purfume as your perfume is not made for washing your body!
you can buy fragrances which are synthetic i prefer essential oils you can tell how much you need to add by the smell!
have a look at milled soap recipes on line (using soap flakes) and melt and pour recipes (block)
