Hi everyone. Was hoping you can help me - i've been invited to a formal Ball next month and need some advice on hosiery.

I wear regular M&S lacetop stockings to the office every day but have seen a lot of girls now opting for so-called seamed stockings. Do you think these would be more suitable for the event and what makes would be best? Also, should i go for stockings or holdups?

Thanks all
Stacy

Frankly, I would waffle on wearing seamed stockign to a Formal Ball. I love seamed stocking, don't get me wrong, but these days they are highly charged with erotic overtones, and formal event are generally NOT the place for that.

Hosiery or plain stocking would be best, depending on the length and reveal-factor of your chosen dress.

If your outfit is cut slim enough to show garters or short enough to possibly flash, then I would go the hosiery route. Otherwise, stockings or thigh highs are a good choice.

Just an opinion, of course.

Seems like sound advice to me. I guess i've just seen a lot of girls wearing seamed stockings and thought that a formal ball would be very much the place for such hosiery.

Hmm...

Any other advice gratefully received please? I have bought some seamed stockings but still unsure about reactions etc! Have just had a lot of mixed responses from friends/work colleagues etc.

Thanks
