We call it Coke. Everything is a Coke. Also we have to ask for unsweet tea because it comes sweet if not.

We make fried corn bread with corn meal, salt, and water. My inlaws call it fritters.

We call it chicken fried steak here in Texas. My husband's family in GA calls it country fried steak.

What sets my funny bone off is seeing "chicken fried steak" next to "chicken fried chicken" on a menu.
"Chicken fried chicken"- hello? That's just plain ol' fried chicken!

I was born and raised in GA and I don't know what fried peanuts are. I know that a lot of places sell boiled peanuts on the side of the road. I have never seen fried ones. I googled it and it sounds awful!

I just learned that what is "cobbler" nearly everywhere else is called "doo-dah" in the state of Oregon.
As in baking plum doo-dah. I think that's sort of fun actually, although to me, the doo-dah is the thing that connects to the thingamajig most of the time.
