This isn't entirely wrestling related, (it could be in time, a lot of these guys seem to end up as wrestlers) but is anyone else as stoked as me at the beginning of the new season of "The Next Ultimate Fighter?" There is a lot of excitement as the coaches, Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock, truly hate each other, and are due to fight at a UFC match in July. I am glad the show doesn't conflict with wrestling showtimes as I strongly feel I'd have to break wheat and do the unthinkable, skip wrestling in favor of the Next Ultimate Fighter.

Absolutely. I watched it last night and it was good. I know Ken and met Tito and obviously watched Ken in WWE and TNA as well as in UFC. I saw Tito in TNA and saw his fights. Oddly, while Tito is portrayed as a big heel everywhere, I think he is a good guy. People in TNA raved about his respect and demeanor during his time there. Ken, on the other hand, was always just as crazy as he comes off on the show. And he explodes easily.

This is a great show to lead into TNA when they start next week. Many will hang around after to watch wrestling, especially TNA, because it has the same sort of ring and a sort of a "shoot" feel at times.

I think UFC 3 will be red hot and, since I watched the other two seasons, hope it will live up to at least last season which was just great.

Doing away with the challenges was smart. They were lame. It is nice that they are focusing on fighting rather than those weird challenges.

Anyway, yeah, I definitely am stoked about the show and hope everyone gives it a chance. It is not any more violent than wrestling and, in many ways, less so.

The magic of old time wrestling was you could suspend your disbelief and get into the wrestling. IS it fake? Yeah, for one match, but get the main event in the ring and you wasn't so sure anymore. The beauty of the Next Ultimate Fighter is... are you ready for this? THEY KEEP IT REAL. Where much magic is now gone from professional wrestling, I believe the Ultimate Fighter somehow tapped into the old time wrestling feel. And it's just a bonus that it is real.

Tito is VERY competative, you can see it when he fights. Outside of the ring though he is involved in charities and things for inner city kids. He keeps it quiet, and that, to me, is the mark of a true golden heart. He just happens to wear his heart on his sleeve, and that is one of the reasons he is so good at fighting, he fights with his heart. I would hate to have him mad at me though.

I like him a lot and I know many favor Ken but I know Ken and well... He has Bret Hart's intensity times 10,000. I always think he is going to implode when he gets mad.

I used to hang out with Tank Abbott on the road (Not close friends but he was there and so was I) and he doesn't look tough but boy was he! He wasn't a typical UFC guy but no one wanted to mess with him. He would be dancing in the ring one minute and about to snap someone's neck the next.

He's not typical though. Most UFC fighters keep the violence in the octagon. Tank was a bar room brawler turned pro fighter.

But I loved Tank! What UFC fan couldn't love the guy who was smiling a heart felt smile, while he was trying to shove Paul Varlans whole head through the chain link fence with his knee in an old UFC match from the beginning? He is one of my favorites.
