Excuse me, but I happen to be residing in France, but I come from England.... perhaps I should have made that clear...There is fault to be found with every country on this planet, if we look hard enough, and even as individuals, we have no right to hold ourselves as either being superior or more righteous than others....
The two issues here seem to be that
(1) This apalling and unspeakably disgusting act was perpetrated by bigotted and prejudiced individuals, not France.
(2) In order to understand (though I neither defend it nor condone it) why the French Authorities denied an anti-semitic racial link, you'd have to understand the French Psyche.... and though, as I have said, I do nothing to defend it, I understand it, in that they are misguidedly attempting to eliminate all racial and religious distinction between people, in an effort to uphold their antiquated Constitution of "LIbert, Egalit and Fraternit"....
This has, unsurprisingly, back-fired on them big time.... In an effort to level the playing field' they have actually systematically sought to erase any identity, differentiation or cultural identity people have...But have done nothing to eliminate instead the insiduous racial discrimination and prejudice which is rife in all Governmental levels...
They have a high immigrant population, but nobody in their parliament to give voice to these factions.... and they have no intention of appointing anyone either...
But Why single France out?
Why not look at China's appalling record on Human Rights?
or Burma's?
Or Australia's?
Or America's?
or <pick a country - any country>'s ?
