I don't think you can beat a good pair of trousers, especially for the guys. I sport a nice pullover too, nothing fancy. No baseball bats and trainers for me now I'm in my forties, I mean thirties (even though I look about 23*). Sandals, with socks, once the embodiment of naffness now look perfectly cool with my cream trousers.

* You can ask absolutely anyone, I'm not lying.

Did anyone else find, after having a child or children, that it was almost (well very!) guilt inducing buying clothes etc. for themself? I still have the problem, although my son's ten - when I go into town I'm more likely to buy stuff for my partner or son than myself - it's almost instinctive now, and quite unhealthy! Which in turn has led to me not knowing what to wear (and pretending not to care!) - still, you can but laugh <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have NEVER understood why taking care of myself should, would, or could induce guilt...if I do not take care of me who will???

Just want to add to the "my time" comment. The reason i think Now and future is "my time" is confidence. I truly believe that there is nothing more attractive than a confident woman. Of course confidence is expressed in clothing, but it is also expressed in the way we carry ourselves. If you want to look your best, stand up straight and put on a confident smile.

and don't wear a pirate outfit. That's my advice! I'm going to stick to normal clothes from now on.

Personally, I'd rather see an attractive older lady who has kept in shape, wearing spaghetti straps and short shorts than I would an obese teenager wearing the same things! I think the body is the measure in what you should wear. If you have a great body, show it off!

Enjoyed reading every ones comments. I am 60 soon and still love to dress modern.

Denim jeans, denim skirts, peasant skirts, nice tops. I feel you can not go wrong. The 60's look well that will always be an ever green.

Dress how you feel comfortable and enjoy your age what ever it is...............
