[color:"green"] [/color] Hi all.
Im 15 with naturally light brown hair and used to dye it dark brown. I got sick of that look so i wanted to go blonde. The whole going blonde process was a disaster, with my hair ending up going orange and white. Anyway, thats fixed now, and my hair is now blonde.
My problem is that my hair is really dry, and because its curly it makes it seem even drier. I used to straighten my hair on a regular basis but since ive gone blonde ive had to stop because my hair is dry and it doesnt look good. I dont mind wearing my hair curly but i need mousse to keep it from going frizzy and i cant be bothered spending 20 mins every morning before school doing my hair.
If it was up to me i would dye my hair brown again, but because mom has spent AU$200+ on my going blonde, she said im not allowed. I was wondering if you could tell me about permanent straightening and how it would on thick/long/curly hair, and also what could help me get my hair back to its old condition. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

It sounds as though you hair is already damaged, I would not recommend a permanent straightening if that is the case. I have known people with curly hair that had permanent straightening, and because the hair was already damaged her hair would dry out and break off. I think it is imperative that you have healthy hair before you consider doing such a thing. You really need to talk to a stylist about getting your hair back into shape before you do anything to it. There are a couple things I can recommmend to you, the first being vitamins, and the second being a thermal protector for when you straighten it. I do not straighten my hair (god did that for me), but I know Nioxin Bliss has been recommended here a couple times. The third thing I would recommend is regular haircuts until the damage is gone, so you don't damage any new growth. I copied this information from one of my previous posts and I hope it helps you.

You should consider taking a vitamin that contains the following:

Vitamin B-complex
Other B-vitamins (including folate, biotin and inositol)
Vitamin B-6
Vitamin C with bioflavonoids
Vitamin E
Beta-Carotene
The recommended daily dose of magnesium, sulfur, zinc
Flaxseed oil

These vitamins and minerals have been shown vital to keratin protein (you hair metabolism). Without them you hair growth can slow or stop, you can suffer hairloss, or your overall hair health can be compromised. Healthy hair starts from within the body. You should talk to your doctor about starting a vitamin regimen, and he/she can tell you how much your body/hair needs. Also get frequent hair cuts, because damaged hair could possibly damage any new growth.

Hello beeb,
No permanent straightening while your hair is lightened. It sounds like you have had enough chemical processes on your hair already. Use a good conditioner regularly. You need protein to repair the chemical and heat damage and moisturizers to rehydrate your hair. Curly hair almost always need moisturizers anyway.

These are a couple excellent conditioners

Are there any good products available in Australia?

I also read something about the Spa Hair Treatment .. Do you think my hair could benefit from that?

Thanks
