petroleum jelly will only keep the moisyure in. It otherwise will help in no way. Most of us have dark circles around our eyes, because of loss of the fat paadding below the skin or loss of collagen from the dermis. Only adermatologist can tell the exact reason. I have dark circles that are inherited from my father. so I never bother about them.

Loss of collagen below the eyes is one of the reasons of dark circles. Your doctor can tell you about that. another common reason is genetic. I don't think there is any permanent remedy for this, unless it is being caused by stress.

To temporarily conceal dark undereye circles, Bare Escentuals Well-Rested is a great concealer. Just apply lightly with an eyeshadow brush.

Other than that, drink tons of water!!!!

My husband had terrible dark puffy circles under his eyes and he has been getting laser treatment, this is working wonders. There are heaps of great directories that can help you find good clinics. Peter went to www.cosmeticchoice.com.au to find the best in Australia
