I'm not from New Zealand but have visited, and it is such an amazing place! I toured the South Island, and came to love Queenstown and also the Franz Josef glacier. I wish I could go back and spend more time there - such a beautiful country and such wonderful people!
It is great. I live in the North Island so I have only visited the South Island once. It was beautiful though. I used to live in Matamata where they filmed Lord of the Rings. Or Hobbiton as it is now known.
I had one night in Auckland on a layover on my trip and it wasn't long enough! I had friends who traveled and lived up there while I was in Australia and visiting in New Zealand and they all loved it - I will need to go back and visit soon! I'd imagine it's getting colder there now? I'm ready for the summer months and warmer weather!!!
