Hi all,
I know its been a while.I am having budgie problems.I have other birds that are fine.My budgie was fine, then one day i noticed he was puffed up,and constantly scratching his behind. But thought nothing much about as i thought he was just a little tired. He was still eating and drinking fine.He also has fast breathing,I took him to the vet to have him checked out(Not cheap might i add). The vet had no idea what was wrong with him.Wanted to put him through a slew of tests(which i cannot afford. At the moment she prescribed a med for the scratching(bottom). It was for mites.I put 1 drop on the back of his neck, thursday, and was told to come back in 14 days for another prescription of the same stuff.Thing is i don`t know how long it takes for thes med to work.My budgie is still the same.Scratching his behind. No feathers there now.Eating and drinking fine.Still has the fast breathing. His stool, goes from dark green with white,to yellow with the white. She said if it isn`t mites which he has it could be liver disease.Thing is i have checked everywhere on here for liver disease, and kidney disease in budgies and the first symptom is no appitite. And i don`t see a symptom of scratching.
My budgies symptoms are:
Sometimes puffed up
Scratching bottom
green and white to yellow and white stools
Not much of a voice.
No dierea
Has anyone had any of these problems with there birds?
I am trying to find homes for these birds as i simply cannot afford the vet fees(testing fees)
But have been told if i have a sick bird no one will take them.I have been told to just dump them off at the local spca.I cannot do that as that would be too cruel.
Any help out there.
thanks all

I wish I had some answers for you - but I've never had to deal with a problem like this.
