A lot of my dreams are weird so I just type them down and move on to the next one. The one I had last night was a bit weird.

I dream that I am back on a base in New York that I used to live at when I was a kid but I am myself. While outside behind the house, I decided to go into the house to grab a digital camera so that I could take pictures and show an internet friend what the place looked like.

I go around the house to the front door where I see my father sitting on a lawn chair and there were native americans also sitting around as well. I don't remember how many there were nor do I know what tribe they were in. It might have started with an L but I don't believe it was Lakota.

One native american approached the house while I was at the door but for some reason, he got real close and even pushed his body against mine while I was trying to inch away from him. I know he was trying to get to the door and maybe he thought I was purposely blocking him or something. He said he was looking for my father.

I pointed over to my father and noticed just now that he wore a camouflage shirt but instead of shades of green, it was shades of purple. I said, "He's the one in the purple camouflage shirt."

The native american guy goes to my father. By this time, I notice there's a native american woman sitting by my father who now has a purple shirt of her own. The native american guy said, "I take it that you two are lovers?" There was some laughing from my father and woman but my father said they were not.

My father greeted the native american guy but the guy said "We want you to leave." At this request, the other native americans started to stand and then I realized that everyone is wearing the purple camouflage shirt when I know for a fact that they were wearing something else just moments before. I knew the other native americans were going to defend my father's right in staying.

By this time, I decided to return to my task of getting the digital camera and taking pictures of the base. I enter the house and started going up the stairs.

At the top of the stairs, I saw a native american youth and I paused on the step. He was sweaty and looked queasy. This is when I knew that he had looked through my sister's room and mine as well. I started to wonder if he found something that sickened him? He came down the steps, passed me, and went out the door.

I continued my way up the stairs and peered into my sister's room. On her bed, I saw red threads that were cut and laid in a line. I thought it was unusual but when I glanced over to a chair, I saw a pair of jeans that was somehow hanging on it. I noticed there were stitching on the jean (Not red though but can't remember what). When I got closer, It was big (as in, it wasn't all 'lines'. It was big and appeared almost like some form of cursive.) as if it was machine-stitched and it said, "It had a claim".

I left my sister's room and went into my room. There, I saw my shirt propped up on something on my bed. I don't know what was holding the shirt up but it was all wrinkled. I was afraid to touch it in case it was 'spell'ed or something. I finally touched a part of my shirt and pulled it out to straighten it. The number "21" was stitched onto it. I went around the bed and noticed another number. At first, I thought it would've been 42 but when I straightened the shirt, it said "94".

I knew I was going to have to find the native american youth to find out what he meant. I grabbed the digital camera and started to leave.

And that was the end of the dream. I can't think of anything that would cause this dream to happen. The "It had a claim" message was the first thing I thought of when I woke.

That is so detailed. The obvious question I suppose is whether the house you lived in then, or now is on ancestral lands at all? If not could it be that you or your family have something that originally belonged to native americans, or simply someone else that could legitimately say they 'had a claim'?

Thinking symbolically have you recently taken on a new job/partner that someone felt was rightfully theirs. All a bit basic from me & I'm not sure I'm anywhere near the mark. What do others think?

Wow. I agree, what detail!
I would take the dream seriously given the presence of messages you remember and numbers that were strategically placed. A delicate question for some, but could you tell us how old (roughly!) you are? The number 21 is significant as a life passage age, as is 94 when you reduce it to 13 (9+4). Might be something, might be nothing.
Just because I am kind of local, I would be interested in knowing in what part of NY the base you grew up on is located. (How old were you when you lived there?) I was browsing the local tribes trying to find another L one that might ring a bell.
Thanks for sharing your dream with us all. This forum is so much fun. Always something new being dreamed up!

I'm sorry for being late with my reply!

I don't know if they were on ancestral lands. The place I had lived at was a military base so all kinds of people come through. I lived at the base for 3 years before I moved on yet to another base. My family doesn't own anything that could've belonged to native americans.

No, I haven't taken on a new job or gotten a promotion or anything like that that. Everything's chugging along pretty much the same.

I am 24 years old.

Just because I am kind of local, I would be interested in knowing in what part of NY the base you grew up on is located. (How old were you when you lived there?)

It was located in Rotterdam, NY. I don't know the specific name of the base. I lived there from 91 to 94 and that made me around 10 to 13 years old.

http://www.wva.army.mil/HOUSING.HTM - The second picture on that page brings back lots of memories. The building on the right, I lived in that building. You'll see the path closest to you as gray. That path went around the house. The next path is white and that led to my front porch.

I often have dreams that would place me in certain bases such as NY, VA, etc.. and I would often say it when I begin to type dreams in.

I hope this helps.

Ive started to reply to this post numerous times...either to the internet connection timing out, power outtages or having to do something else before posting I havvent been able to. Perhaps this is my lucky day.

to me the thing that sticks out the most is the purple camoflage...not really a color that camo is found in. Purple is known as the color of enlightenment, and with purple i think of a amethyst...that dark deep purple. Amethyst is associated with sobriety and mental clarity/focus.

is there something that you OR your father are going through that requires such clarity and focus?

Here's an interesting thought... on the jeans was the message "it had a claim" . You all know I listen for the puns... so what about a genetic claim? red threads for blood lines? Any chance you might have some Native American blood? (If we're onto something here, I'd lay money on your dad's involvement somehow as he was being challenged about his right to stay, and some were defending his right to belong.) I also am interested in the numbers still... you saw 21 and expected 42 (2X21) what was there was 2X42 or 94. Two generations ago? Maybe an actual year 1921, 1942, 1994. Anything seem significant?

Hm.. Not that I can think of. I don't think there are any issues that he or I am going through that need to be worked out.

When my Great Uncle did research on my mother's side of the family, he told us that a Native American in Canada was a part of the family tree but I believe that was in the 1800's. I don't know anything about my father's family tree though. My sister and I was going to do our father's side but nothing ever came of it.

I lived for half of 94 in NY before being relocated but the other years, I don't notice anything familiar. Two generations ago would be my grandfather? I only have one memory of him and it's not a good one. He died when I was 5.

or a date...feb 1, 94....april 2, 94 something like that.

No, nothing stands out... Only thing I can think of is that I was living in NY and that's where the dream took place.

I was there in person. The guy moved against me like he was being aggressive. Maybe he misunderstood and thought I was purposely in his way but I got the feeling that he was pushing against me in an aggressive way.

I like Trishh's genes/jeans observation. I think she might be onto something there. I get lots of wordplay in my dreams & sometimes it takes a while to work out the puzzle.
