Seems like everyone here is partial to the ADFs. But I have an African Clawed Frog (Peepers) who I like very much. I've had him for about a year now and (as frogs go) he's a nice little guy. I've had him for about a year, so he's teenager size. He was so tiny when I got him and the lady at the pet store actually suggested a small quart-sized container for him and his little friend. Well, I knew he would grow, so I opted for a 2 1/2 gallon tank. The other frog died soon after, but Peepers seemed healthy and survived. Now, after almost a year, I decided that he couldn't stay in that tank any longer. Yesterday I moved him to a ten gallon tank. He seems happy with the change and was croaking like crazy all last night. However, I worry that he was croaking to try to call a friend. I understand that these guys are much happier with another frog. I don't mind making the commitment of a second frog, but I worry about what might happen. If you've ever had one of these guys, they'll eat anything. I mean ANYTHING! Does anyone on this site have any experience introducing a tankmate to an ACF? Obviously I'd be looking for one of a similiar size/age. He's about two inches now. It's a ten gallon tank and there are no fish in the tank. Just a few silk plants, one medium-sized rock, and Peepers. And should I even try to get him a friend or should I leave well enough alone? I don't want another frog to lose an arm or leg due to Peepers' extreme/constant appetite. I would feel so bad. And personally, I would rather only have one frog. But if it makes Peepers happy. Any advice?
