Hi!
I'd replied to your post yesterday, but it didn't seem to go thru.
Sure, the Frog and Tadpole Bites are fine. I have an ACF and feed him those sometimes, but I also vary it a bit. Bloodworms and brine shrimp are great as treats. I also feed my ACF Reptomin (the small size pellets) so he gets plenty of calcium. You can actually break the pieces into even smaller pieces. One and a half gallons is okay to start, but these guys grow. They'll get as big as your fist, eventually. They also put out a lot of waste. The bigger the better. He'll eventually need 10 gallons. But if you're just getting started, sure, the 1 1/2 gallon will keep him for a few months. I'd stay away from the sand, though. I use gravel (any kind, any colour---but stay away from sharp-edged rocks). My little guy will actually pick up the gravel and move it looking for food underneath. They might accidentally swallow some of the sand. You might want to think about two frogs, though. I understand they feel more comfortable with a friend. But I'm sure you're going to love your new frog. They really are cute pets. Good luck!
