This is a great discussion and very timely for me...Last night I was at a friend's going away party (she's moving) and one of her friends said I couldn't possibly be a day over 27!!!! How fabulous is that!? (I'm 32) When I told him my age he just looked stunned like he couldn't believe it...great fun!!! I have two grown-up kids, I'm 50 and people still think I'm around thirty!! Must be my pure lifestyle, abstention from alcohol, cigarettes, drugs.....oh, and the portrait in the loft might have something to do with it!! LOL!!

Never, no way! I'm now 54 (today) and never once have I felt regret with my decision. Of course I'm only as old as the man I feel, and he's 18 years younger than me. I actually look his age too!
Seen enough kids to know that they're unmanageable by parents anyhow. Selfish? Nah - not me mate. I think parents are the selfish ones: Hardly enough food to go around in this world, nappies (diapers) in landfill etc. etc. etc. Kids are environmentally unsound. At least I TRY to educate others into becoming vegan, i.e. environmentally conscious and caring, but parents always say "but MY children NEEEED to eat meat" etc. Pah, humbug! "My/Our Children Must Come First" parenting makes me sick.
It's funny though, I've never had anyone call me about it - I guess they daren't with MY attitude. They'd get an earful they didn't expect.
HUGS to all you child FREEEE people out there, Jo

I don't want to come over as a brag-bag, so I just thought I'd post a picture as proof... What IS a little scary, is that i'm wearing the same top today.... My wardrobe is more limited than I thought!!

Even though I agree that some people that have kids can still look great...I think the relaxation and calmness you feel when you don't have kids helps you to stay young looking (and feeling!) longer. If I am going to stay up all night it is going to be because I'm having fun ..not because my kid is crying!!

I could blame the fact that I'm 23 and look 17 on my childfreeness...but no, I just look young.
At this age, it really sucks to look almost ten years younger than you are. Someday I'll be glad of it. For now, I just wish people would stop assuming I'm in high school.

i agree with you..i have the same problem and people say you ought to appreciate it...but looking like a highschooler and getting carded for cigs, r rated movies and alcohol gets annoying especially when the person carding you looks older than you and they are younger....oh well
