Dunno if Wicca or Pagan is the correct place to post this, but I came across this list of "Birthday Trees", apparently based on Celtic traditions:

http://www.geocities.com/lavenderwater37/birthdaytrees.htm

I was just wondering if anyone else found things to be so eerily accurate in this. I know it pegged me a hundred times better than either my Chinese symbol or my Zodiac symbol. I'm the least Virgo-ish Virgo you've ever met.... I'm more like an Aquarius or something. Even having my full chart done didn't get me.

But Weeping Willow, the Melancholy... every single thing there fits me to a T, and some of them are quite specific! I also went through everyone else whose birthdays I knew, and the same thing there....

I guess my questions are, did anyone else find this to be as accurate as I did, and does anyone have any further information about this tradition?

I am a Lime tree (also a virgo) but right on the border of Willow and Lime and there are characteristics of both that apply.

The Celtic Tree Calendar is not something I work with regularly but I have found it to be pretty accurate when I have used it.

I believe there is a divination deck that I think uses it too. The Celtic Tree Oracle. But I haven't used it before

Thanks for the link, Megan! That's a fun one.

It would seem we have a plethora of Virgos here, as I'm one too, and a Pine Tree apparently.

I was just talking trees with my sister's boyfriend, the arborist. He always tries to ask if any trees are special or were specially planted before starting a job so that they don't accidentally take out anything that is a memorial or has special family history.

This was fun. I love trees. After looking at the list, I feel an olive tree is more "me", but according to my birthday, I am a Hazelnut tree. Funny thing is, my cat is named Hazelnut! Rae, your sister's boyfriend is awesome. We need more people sensitive to the trees plight.
