Donna Tartt's The Secret History would make a good movie. Salman Rushdie's The Ground Beneath Her Feet is very visual and could be fascinating, but I think it would have to be done as a mini series to avoid losing half the story. I would also love to see Stephen King's Rose Madder done on film - I could picture the scenes so vividly while I was reading it, and it always fascinates me to see how differently, or similarly, others interpret the same concepts.

You gotta love Salmon Rushdie and Stephen King, I've never heard of The Secret History, I'll have to check it out.

I'd like to see one of Alice Munro's short stories turned into something--she's so good at playing with illusion and reality, I can see something ala Requiem to a Dream.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Thanks for the link, that's another one I hadn't heard of. I'm glad I asked--I will check this one out too.

I have just read Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's fantasy The Conch series. It is about the exploits of a young boy in India. The Conch Bearer and The Mirror of Fire and Dreaming are great books. I must admit the books read lately are either children or southeast asia related.

Here, here! Plus I would love to see the look on some abusive husband's face as he watched that film!
It is an excellent book, though.

I would also like to see Dean Koontz't Strangers, that would be a good "keep 'em guessing" film!

Illusions by Richard Bach, tales of the Reluctant Messiah.
What do you think, could be interesting. Rumplestiltskin and repunzel by the hands of Disney. Nancy Drew mysteries. A good remake of the Andromeda Strain. Crawlspace. remake?
A good remake of Charlottes web.non-animated

Any of Val McDermid's murder mysteries (One of which has already been made into the series on BBC called "Wire in the Blood")would be great as would one of Brain Haig's action books. The one I am reading now called "The President's Assassin" would be a great vehicle for Bruce Willis or Harrison Ford...
