Ok, I've beaten the Sin fins & Sin Genais or whatever, and now I'm on the overdrive Sin. At this point, should I have already gotten the Ultimate Weapons so that they do 99,999 damage like everyone is saying? I've done a few of the sidequests like the Omega Ruins, but I can't seem to beat Overdrive Sin without his overdrive gauge filling up and killing the entire party. Any advice? Or is it just that the Ultimate Weapons are pretty much necessary at this point? <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

It's been quite awhile since I've played but I got a few of the Ultimate Weapons, but not all. I know I didn't have Wakka's becaus I found blitzball to be a pain in the arse (sorry), but I did make sure I had a lot of the ability grid thing complete. I made sure Yuna had Holy and Lulu could double cast, as well as Rikku doing copycat. Those thing's really helped me a lot. I hope this is kind of helpful..:) Good luck!

This is the one where you have to breaks Sin's arms off right? You don't need the ultimate weapons for this- you just need to hit it with your strongest attacks. have aeons and yuna in overdrive, and if you can, make sure you summon bahamut twice for his overdrive. i think wakka and auron were my strongest characters at this point, so in between yuna's turns, whack sin with them. oh, and cast hastega- that helps a bit <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

This is exactly where im stuck, i think, where before the battle tidus says "Im coming for you, dad" and then it starts. And sin has 140,000 hp, i have all of my aeons overdrive up, and yunas, i cast bahamut twice and everything, but i can only get him down to about 70,000 hp before he casts giga-graviton.

Yup, marcusrcis2, that's exactly where I'm at and it's getting on my nerves. The lowest I got him down to was 45,000 hp before he casted his friggen giga-graviton that killed everyone. I'm curious if the ultimate weapons are helpful in this situation? I've read that they do anywhere between 70,000 and 99,999 damage??

hmmm... how much damage are your characters doing? i know this took me about three goes before i beat him, and mine were doing about 7000, and bahamut could do 20-25000 damage.

Auron does 7000-9999 everytime but everyone else's are pretty weak... only 1000-3000. Rikku can throw 100k at Sin to inflict 9999 damage but I still want to go get Yojimbo since I haven't yet so I don't want to waste all my gil doing that. Bahamut does about 22000-24000 on his overdrive, I have Yuna's overdrive up & Bahamut's so I do a grand summon and he can perform his overdrive twice.

the ultimate weapons would be useful, but you have to get your stats up really high for them to do that sort of damage.

For me? my bahamut does about 25,000-27,000 per mega flare, and the rest of my aeons do 9,999, i havent gotten any ultimate weapons yet, i put the game down for like a year, and now im trying to beat and play X-2 before XII comes out.

Typically, i cast hastega, then i cast bahamut twice, so thats about 50,000, then i can get through 2 more aeon overdrives, then he destroys me.

I don't think i bothered with any of the other aeons, I just summoned bahamut twice, and if you can level up some of your other characters so they can do 9999ish damage with each hit, then that should be enough to beat him. you will probably have to have a few tried, because the timing of when he opens his mouth can be different- i think he must have been extra slow when i beat him.
