I was reading the Daily News the other day. It's a New York newspaper. There was an article about Kimora Lee. The Daily News quoted her as saying that her number one healthy food was something called Acal Juice. It was described as being "like a pomegranite, but even better". Since then, I have been unable to find any mention of this fruit - or juice. Does anyone know what it is? <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Actually, I have heard of it. It's Acai juice and comes from the Amazon. It was a huge deal in the direct sales industry a few months ago. I actually used to drink it, but the type I had, Fruta Vida, also had caffeine in it and it wasn't pure acai juice (which I'm not sure if there is pure acai juice), which I was trying to avoid at that time. I know that Monavie also has acai juice products.

If you Google "Acai Juice," you will come up with a bunch of stuff on it. I have heard it's supposed to be good for a whole host of medical issues and also for weight loss.

Thanks for the interesting reply. The confusion then probably comes from the fact that I thought I read "Acal" (and not "Acai") in the Daily News article. If it is spelt "acai", I will start looking again. Once again, thanks.

You're right. A Google search produces masses of responses. Maybe in the end you can't get pure acai juice. Pomegranate seems to be the same - it's always mixed with other juices, and perhaps some sugar. Pure pomegranate juice (which we did manage to order once) is more or less undrinkable. It's much too bitter. Probably acai juice is the same. Both are pretty expensive. Acai juice seems even more expensive than pomegranate!
