Thanks Jase!
I understand that people have been hurt, and its hard not to lash back. But if everyone keeps lashing back - when does it stop? And how do you know the person you are berating is actually "guilty" of being prejudiced, when you've only met the person? (Not talking about YOU Jase, I'm using the universal "you" )
It's frustrating sometimes when I try to "outgrow" my deep southern heritage, that I am automatically lumped in with the rest of the "rednecks". I'm very pale, have reddish blonde hair, freckles, and a very southern accent, and yes I say y'all! I also scored near perfect on an IQ exam at a psychologists office, and love the theatre and musical arts, and have a child that's autistic. I can't be lumped into a category no more than any other person - gay, straight, african, latino, or even autistic.
When do we stop slinging at each other and just start accepting?

Amen! It seems like everyone forgets the "golden rule" doesn't it. None of us want to be associated with the negative aspects of whatever group we may belong to. My own theory is that if you are going to hate someone, make sure it's personal and not because of something stupid like what they look like or where they come from.
I have friends in almost every "category" --all ethnic backgrounds, socio-economic backgrounds, and sexual orientation. And, I take all those words personally -- "you're talking about my people whether you know it or not!" I realized long ago that I cannot make everyone grow up, but I can control my own little corner of the world, and nobody gets away with nasty names around here.
Name-calling, stereo-typing, prejudice and other discriminatory behavior is almost always a sign of ignorance (in my could-be-more humble opinion.) What amazes me is that it still exists in such huge numbers. This is 2006 and we're just adding new groups/sub-groups and made-up groups to our "others" lists. Humanity needs some group therapy!

I'm with you, Jase, I think "breeders" is both ridiculous and offensive.
Hey, guess what! Sometimes gay people have kids! Sometimes straight people don't! Sometimes kids have one mom! Sometimes kids have two! Sometimes people are raised by their grandparents!
It all goes back to the whole "All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten" thing. Remember, in the first couple of weeks of kindergarten, the teacher would read a book about how people are different and families are different and yada yada? Oh, right.... and share and play nice and warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

If you hate anyone for any reason it is wrong. I am Christian and I think homosexuality is a sin but homosexuals are people that we should love and cherish. I am no better than they are. God loves them as much as He does me. I would NEVER call them names or attack them personally. We can debate their beliefs all day long but as far as I'm concerned there is no debate as to their worth. They are precious as all are. If we could all learn to see each other as God does, there would be no hatred.

HI there
If you visit the "brats" board you will find out what breeder really means.Just go to google and type in child free rants.
A breeder is a person who has a child but really should have been sterilaized at birth.

No one should be sterilized at birth. That is a hateful suggestion. It is reflective of the contempt that some radical homosexuals have toward heterosexuals. Some not only regard their lifestyle as normal ( it, of course, is not ) but regard it as superior to a that of heterosexuals. This just demonstrates how far down people will go without God.

By the way Megan, homosexuals can never have children. That is biologically impossible. They can adopt or surrogate but that always involves male/female. The way God intended. God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Hey Dave, I have two Moms. I also have some problems with intolerance. For example, I simply cannot tolerate people who try to tell me that my family is invalid. Don't you DARE throw cheesy fundamentalist "Adam and Steve" puns at me. Don't you dare. I won't judge your family, don't you think for one minute that I will tolerate you judging mine. Unacceptable. You can knock my religious beliefs all you want, but if you talk about my family again, you'll regret it. That IS a threat.
