Any God I'm interested in worshipping wants as much love in the world as possible. Therefore, any God who condemns homosexuality, sends kind and goodhearted nonbelievers to Hell, forces women to give birth to unwanted babies (thereby ruining both their lives and causing them resentment and hatred towards each other and others), sees benevolent witchcraft and spellcasting as a damnable offense, and so on... is not a God I care to worship. I'd rather love the people I love, live the life I've chosen, and let people like you think I'm going to Hell.
In my belief system, Hell is simply a state of life on earth, not someplace you go after you die. If you commit severe sins (murder, rape, violence), hate people, are overly lustful (and act upon it too often), substance-addicted, etc., your life is miserable. Our souls aren't capable of dealing with that kind of anguish. But if you love deeply, live every day like it's your last, then life is heaven.
I'm still in purgatory a little bit, but I'm on an upward slope.
