BellaOnline Forums TV and Movies Specialty Channels Lifetime TV and Dish Network

Well its been 3 weeks since Lifetime TV and Dish Network has severed ties. I emailed both Dish Network and Lifetime TV, and Dish Network was the only one that cared to reply to my questions. I gave them both a chance to explain to all of us what was going on. This unforunately for me convinces me that Dish Network may be in the right.

Has anybody else heard anymore on this?

I miss my Lifetime TV, but how fair is fair?

People what do you think?? Have you written them and have they reponded to your emails?

This is the 1st time I've even heard of this.
I have Time Warner Cable. It sounds so strange,
they would severe ties. Lifetime is the channel
for WOMEN.

What's up with that? Will you keep us posted?

Dish said that Lifetime raised their rates too much. I forget how much, but it was a huge increase.

Dish is saying that Lifetime wants a 76% increase, but I don't know. They did this before with Nickelodeon, MTV and the other channels that were owned by Viacom too. I'm on DirecTV and actually have Lifetime, LMN and Lifetime Real Women. If this hadn't happened before with another contract I would wonder if it wasn't Lifetime, but who knows, somewhere in the middle of both stories is the truth.

Interesting, politics going on there.
