I just received a review copy of EATING, DRINKING, OVERTHINKING by Susan Nolen-Hoeksema and will be reading it to post a review here shortly. In the meantime, if you're reading something that might be helpful to this group, please share

I'm not currently reading anything that would fall into this category but I'd like to check out Dr. Phil's new relationship book. I watched a prime time special he did where he was trying to find Paula Abdul a date and he had some good thoughts on dating and commitment.

I am reading the Artist's Way. A couple of friends of mine and I are getting together once a week and discussing it. It has been a GREAT motivator for me. I'm so glad I FINALLY decided to read it

I love The Artist's Way, too, Deanna, although some of these ideas are actually from a much older classic, Becoming a Writer by Dorothea Brande, which is another one of my favorite books.
Let us know if you do read Dr. Phil's book, and thanks for posting, Alexa.
I've finished the Nolen-Hoeksema book and should have that review posted today, and now I'm reading Creative Time Management by Dr. Jan Yager that I'm finding to be quite different from all the other books on this topic that I've read so far. I hope to post a review on it, too, when I get done reading it. Great book!

I keep hearing about the Artist's Way. I should really read that as I want to get in touch with my creative nature.
I do find my thinking to be more creative, esp. re business ideas, since I began dating my boyfriend who is incredibly creative in business (always coming up with an entrepreneurial idea) and writing.

Hi, FashionFiend (love your name!),
I just discovered another fabulous book about creativity I wanted to recommend to you. It's On Writer's Block (A New Approach to Creativity) by Victoria Nelson. It changed my life, literally. Unfortunately (and I don't know why), it's only available as a used book right now. Maybe it will be reprinted if enough of us want it
Another great book, that I've mentioned in one of my articles, is The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. You might want to check it out, too. And a third I highly recommend is The Creative Habit (Learn it and use it for life) by Twyla Tharp.
And I am just posting my review today of Eating, Drinking, Overthinking. I came down with a terrible case of flu which lasted two weeks, and then my left eye had an infection in it that blurred my vision in it. I am having to limit my computer and reading time for two more weeks even though the eye is nearly healed. So, my apologies for the delay.

I'm reading "The Gift of Change" by Marianne Williamson. It's changing my attitudes, which is what I suppose it should do! I have the Artist's Way on my shelf and the sequel to it, but haven't gotten there yet. I alternate between fiction and non - every now and then I need to totally escape, then I need to totally reconnect - guess that's why I drift back and forth.

Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting, by Lynn Grabhorn. I've made a lot of progress in creating a life that I love but I still have a lot I want to do. In the book it talks about how "feelings" are so powerful in creating what we want in our lives. I believe "thoughts are things" and "thoughts create" but I hadn't connected it to the feeling aspect. I'm loving the book.

I am reading "Shiloh, The Untold Story", by Dr. Timothy Smith, forest ranger for Shiloh National Park. I recently heard his lecture and it was great. Decided to read his book for review. He tells things about the civil war and tells alot of the myths around it where Shiloh was involved.
