I was surprised when I saw Smackdown on Friday the 13th and saw Batista giving up his belt because of an injury. He showed a lot of class in doing that and the WWE, for once, showed class in letting him do that. He didn't just disappear for a year and come back to defend the belt like nothing happened. The WWE didn't just come up with a lame story line for him to give up the belt either. I was also surprised to see Kurt Angle come to Smackdown and win the title the very same night Batista gave it up. Thought Mark Henry would win it and hold it until Batista came back and the two of them fighting for the belt. Guess they are trying to make Kurt Angle a fan favorite. What do you think?

I hope everything goes fine with Batista and he comes back. It was very sad he gave up his belt. Cromer

Batista left with honor and never lost the belt which leaves it open for him to return on top. It was classy and HE is classy. He should be back within 3-4 months. I was so sorry to hear he needed surgery but he was working with a torn lat as it was (in his back) and probably could use this time to heal that as well.

I really would NOT like to see Mark Henry win the belt at all at any time ever.

Angle is very over now and is turning face because the fans demanded it. Who he will feud with is a guess but it could be Henry. Blah...

Maybe Benoit can step up or even Orton although he is involved with the US title storyline.

Who knows, maybe HBK will get "fired" and show up on Smackdown but for the feud to have meaning he probably would need to turn heel. And I doubt he would jump anyway...

I think Batista showed class doing what he did, I hope he has a speedy recovery and comes back to entertain us all soon. Angle going face about time he was becoming very stale as the heel although he needs to lose his sidekick if he's going to do it convincingly. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I was surprised too. I also don't want Angle to have it too long but he's preferable to Henry! I'd like to see 'em give Rey Mysterio a go with it.... just to be different.

Yeah, Rey winning would be nice as long as they don't go overboard on the "Eddie helped me win" stuff. If he dedicates the win to Eddie, that would be great though. Eddie should be there and should be winning <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Angle did lose his sidekick which means he is in full face mode. How funny fans are - booing him like crazy when he dissed the troops and cheering him like crazy now.

I hear he is injured -- more than he is letting on. This could be yet another blow to WWE. I believe he will lose the belt at No Way Out. He is one of those guys who is more entertaining chasing he belt than actually holding it, IMO.

And, if he is injured, he'll have to slow down (although he never does) and try to heal up some.

Well I guess Rey heard you Patty, only thing is who will he be facing in the main event at Wrestlemania? If Angle loses the belt it looks now like it would be to the Undertaker could Rey beat the dead man? With a little help from Eddie..who knows eh..
On the Batista note boy does Smackdown miss him.. Hurry up and get better Batista..

Only now it's looking like they will give his title shot to Randy Orton! I so hope they don't, for so many reasons, but I feel it's a done deal. I don't like the storyline involved either - far too disrespectful to Eddie's memory.
