Many people make New Years Resolutions, right? But how many keep them? Often we make resolutions to do things but we dont have the "umph" behind them to see them through.

This year I made some resolutions for myself on a spiritual basis. My thought was that by making them part of my spiritual life, they might reinforce themselves and I would have better follow through.

One of my goals this year is to become more mindful of the sacred in the everyday things. Even by doing something as simple as thoroughly TASTING the food I eat, and thinking about how it makes me feel and how it nourishes me.

What kind of resolutions have you made?

The day after Samhain, I resolved to move to Seattle, and then I did it in December, so I guess that's my biggest one for this year. I wanted to be more connected to the land, and moving into a house with an organic garden got that started. I've been working on winter weeding and schlepping stuff out to the compost pile. Not glamourous, but more connected to the land for sure. I'm also working on make myself more aware of the sacred in the everyday.

Rae, congrats on your move and Happy New Year. Being connected to the land and being more aware of our relationship to the land is certainly spiritual. You made a very brave move but I have heard that Seattle is beautiful. No more container gardening for you, huh? Are you going to start canning your garden stuff?

I want to become more spiritual this year by spending more time outdoors in nature, with my plants and the birds and animals. I had a tough year last year with my health and did not spend much time outdoors enjoying my usual hummers and flowers. With better health, thankfully, I want to be more spiritual too. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have decided to keep a journal. I love the Seasons of the Witch planners but I live by my palm pilot. So i bought the planner and am using it as a diary. I know we are only 13 days into the year, however I have used it every day! Daily events, dreams, spells, whatever. I like those few minutes everynight reflecting on my day.

Everyone has such great resolutions.

Rae- sounds like you are connecting really quickly to your new home!

Trish- sounds like you have some great plans and its great that you are feeling better this year and can get outdoors to fulfill them

AM - I am also keeping a journal every day and so far I have something for every day!

Working on my mindfulness on this end...Yesterday I went to the gym and work out on the machines for the first time in a LONG time. Afterwards I was a little sore but felt great and spent some time yesterday and today reflecting on the workout and how my muscles work for me, how my body moves, etc.

I am resolving to love. To forgive those who have trespassed against me and to love my enemies. Worthy goals indeed.

I had something for every day then my son decided my journal was scrap paper and tore out a few pages... ARGH! Teenagers!

I do love him. I guess that is what stickey notes were invented for,

I resolve to remove 'gossip' from my life completely. it is poisonous and brings more grief to myself than anyone else.
