I just read the article about hawks along the highway and I must admit that this fascinates me as well. I find myself looking up and around and usually see at least 2 or 3 red tails and lots of kestrels(even though they are technically falcons I believe). I really enjoy hawk watching. What makes me sad is when I drive by a spot on the side of the road and see a wing flapping in the air. I'm not sure if they are killed when they accidentally fly too low to the road or while hunting along side, but it really bums me out.
I also do my fair share of hawk watching here at home. We've got a pair of red shoulders that seem to keep year round residence.
Anyways, just wanted to say kudos on the great article. I look forward to reading more!
