Ever participated before? Planning to this year? It's really cool and a great way to get to know the birds in your area.

I'm planning on doing it this year and it's really not far off.

I'm also itching to see some finches. We have tons of migratory finches that usually start showing up a few at a time here in NC. I love goldfinches myself!

I have never done the Backyard Bird Count, and have considered doing it. Maybe next year...I need to go ahead and put it on the calendar, otherwise it will sneak up on me and then be over with. I have some pix of what I think are female goldfinches, or I could be wrong. They are green on their wings and backs, just gorgeous. Too bad we don't have a bird graemlin.

I had a pair of binoculars and was watching the birds in my yard, interesting.
