I've tried following the instructions in the walkthrough for this section but cannot get past it. How am I supposed to beat it when he always anhilates the whole group?

it took me a while too. i went back to get yojimbo and get every ones overdrive. then train for a while on mt.gagazet and level up. use bio on seymore (bio doesnt work on the machien) only use aeon overdrives near the end to cover your party from "Total Ahnaillation" (cant spell). i found Auron my most usefull character as his overdrives do uber damage. <img src="/images/graemlins/rolling.gif" alt="" />

i just used all the aeons overdrive, without using yojimbo, and i used kimahri's over drive for mighty guard, and aurons to do the last damage, that killed him really quick

if this is the battle, im thinking off...the fight w/ seymour on mt gagazet....this wasant too hard...if it syas reDY TO ANNIHIlate...THEN BRING IN AN AEON...HAVE WAKKA, TIDUS KIMAHRI, AND AUull and AURON'S OVERDRIVE gauges full, cast hastega, aand you shouldnt have too much trouble

If you're on Mt Gagazet, then you might have to train up a bit. There's a save point just before you enter the top of the mountain, so go down and find some random battles and train up a bit. It's really hard, but it helps if you:

a) Get all your aeons to overdrive. On random battles, get one out and use that to boost its overdrive gauge, then dismiss it.
b) Obviously, save a lot.
c) When you feel ready, go face Seymour. Hit him with all your aeons overdrives, and it's cool if you have Yuna at full as well, then you can use an overdrive twice.

That's the way I did it, but I also went back to that save point and did a few hours of training them all up at that save point before I realised that theory might work. Good luck!

I bet Seymour by only having Kimahri's and the Aeons' overdrives filled. Use Tidus, Kimahri and Yuna. Get Tidus to cast Haste ONLY on Yuna. We all know that Aeons are the best weapons. You can use Kimahri's Mighty Guard if you want to, but I didn't need to. Yuna will keep having turns after she summons the Aeons because of Haste. Use the Aeon overdrives on Seymour and that's that!
