Does anyone else need an accountability partner to keep a New Year's resolution? I'm terrible at keeping the dumb things. I start out with the very best of intentions and if I'm lucky, I make it to January 15th.
So, I'm going to appoint all you forum readers as my accountability partners Here's my New Year's resolution for spinning and you're encouraged to ask me occasionally how it's going.
I want to finish spinning ALL my blue/green/natural black batts that I have all carded and have been sitting in Rubbermaid tubs for MONTHS! Part needs to be spun very chunky for a coat (for ME!) and part needs to be spun worsted weight for a vest for a friend.
So! Feel free to hold my feet to the fire on this one. Anyone else need help with accountability? Post your New Year's resolutions here and we'll keep a check on them from time to time.

Well, I am a brand newbie spinner. I got my Lendrum DT for Christmas, so I can't say I am in need of any organization yet. I only have a couple of balls of fluff that I bought here and there. I think if I have any resolutions it might be that I stay on track and not buy so much fiber that I don't know what to do with it - kinda like my yarn stash!

Oh, Donna... why be different than the rest of us?! You know the old saying, "she who dies with the most fiber wins!"

ps. you should add Border Leicester to your sig line

Happy New Year! I am new to the forum. I have been spinning with a drop spindle for about 8 months now and I got a wheel in November (Ashford Traveler, which I LOVE!!!). Anyway, I too have already managed to acquire a fiber stash which rivals my yarn stash, but it's so hard to pass all those lovely fibers by! Good to know there is a support group out there for people like me!

We're starting to sound like a real support group here. Maybe we should call ourselves "Fiberaholics Anonymous" and shorten it to FA. We could all introduce ourselves to the group, "Hi, my name is Pegg, I was a 3 fiber a day spinner..." Oh well, at least this one is a healthy addiction!
Good news on the forum, we *should* have the new server up and running sometime this week which will speed things up.

Had to laugh - I noticed my post from about a month ago. Well, now I have eat my words because as I type I have about 3 lbs. of fiber that has to be spun! Have no idea what I'm going to do with it all yet. I know I am going to knit some mittens and a hat and scarf for myself. I knit one scarf already that is so soft! I love it.
So much for New Years resolutions!

Oh, yeah... my batts are still sitting in the bin unspun. I got sidetracked by an order for 12 pure angora skeins... so I have a pretty good excuse! The skeins ran between 2 and 3 1/2 oz each and were 2 ply sport weight, so they took awhile. Pegg

I've had 3 pounds of silk and cashmere that I've been trying to card up and spin for an entire year...my resolution for this year is to finish the darn stuff:)
Of course, it doesn't help that I have a pound of border leicester, a pound of montadale and an entire silver merino fleece sitting next to my computer!

Oh, I just started spinning this past December and haven't accumulated much yet, but already I'm wondering what to do with the spring wool that is going to be coming my way, now that people know I am spinning. I'm so excited about it! Glad to hear that if I have lots sitting around that I am not alone. My husband doesn't understand it, but I like to keep him guessing anyway. I'm so glad I found you folks!
