Hello everyone, my name is ivett Douglas Samuel. I am the author or the book Revenge when a woman is scorned. the president and founder of the Sisterhood Society. and an Inspirational Speaker. The main focus for my writing is to never allow the light to burn out of the issue of domestic violence and child abuse. Our society works around the clock to inform and stop the ignorance and inhumanity of abuse. And we know that the only way to do this is by fighting to educate everyone on the issue of abuse. The power right now is on the abusers side because we do not continue to educate the public,as well as the law enforcement, and the government as a whole. We cannot allow this to happen!!!!We must continue to educate the world on the horrors that abuse can cause to women and children. In March, the Sisterhood Society will be having The first march against abuse ever in our city. To shine the light bright in our comunity and educate them on the issue of abuse. I was a victim of abuse, they labeled me a survivor, but I choose to be known as a victory.Do not allow the abusers to win!!! I have chosen the writen word to spread the message through out the world and stop an abuser. I have chosen to give women and children who have been the victims of abuse, a voice.

We have several abuse survivors here on the forum. A couple of whom have written about their expreiences, as well as you!

This is a group of gutsy ladies we have here, who are not scared to get out there and help other women!

And not just our female readers and editors either. Jase, one of our male editors is quite involved on his college campus in exposing abuse and violence.

This is not a place where you will ever have to worry about silence - unless it comes to asking one of us to keep something in confidence for you. <img src="/images/graemlins/heart.gif" alt="" />

It's nice to meet you. I am a survivor, as well as a victor. For victory can only come through surviving. For me, the word survivor is not one of shame, but of courage and strength.

i can never let the light go off because i have children and grandchildren. they came very close to losing me in my very abusive relationship. this man almost destroyed me but with the help of women's programs and support from my children i had the strenghth to get out and reach out for help. i still have chills wondering if hes out there waiting for me but i have learned to protect myself and to always beaware of my surroundings.

I am in therapy now and getting the help i need to stay out of this violent relationship and love myself once again.

proud i am a survivor.

the light will forever remain on...

Let us also remember that men are also abused by their wives and male partners everyday. My father was one of those. Shine the light on them too. Let them see that it's ok to come forward and not be emasculated for doing the right thing in reporting their wives/male partners.
