i understand all of your points and when my four year old acts up i do take him outside, but even then i get the occasionally stares and onlookers there too, seems like i cant win on this. but altleast i do have the courtesy to try to atleast leave the place where i am at, but by then my shopping experience or whatever is ruined and then i am frustrated. i do not have the privilege of relying on my sons father to perhaps take him for a day or overnight,or even a hour, but that is another story...

My mother always says that when kids act badly in public, they haven't had enough sleep. Perhaps some good quality time sleeping and playing at home would help your child to not act up in public.

This is an excellent point... Children do not have right or constructive stimulation...
they play too many computer games, they watch too much tv and they don't do enough sport or have enough adequate exercise.... and too often, these electronic stimulants (TV, nintendo, x-box) act as 'babysitters' too...parents need to make time to play and read to their kids. they need to take an active role in providing their children with healthy options...They need to talk to their kids. Have long meaningful, stimulating discussions with them.
All of this modified and adapted according to age....

all that you say is true, alot of parents do not moderate what there kids are watching, or what they are doing on the computer and alot just dont know how to actively communicate with their kids, and they have no idea what there children are up to when they are on the computer.
