Hi... I dont usually come to this board and I dont usually have weird dreams like this... but I had to say something...
I just had a really bizarre dream that felt SOO real
I dreamt that I was sitting here at the computer and I fell asleep with gum in my mouth. I woke up to the voice of someone but I dont remember who it was a woman. I went upstairs to go to the bathroom and this woman and I (apparently we knew each other, but I couldnt see her... which I didnt find strange for some reason) were talking very nonchalantly. I looked in the mirror and my two front teeth had this HUGE gap between them (when I was a kid, before my braces, I had a big gap there but it was no where near this size), but I was able to squeeze them back together. I thought that was strange and I thought that it would make a funny trick to show my husband. Then I went potty and I noticed the gum was still in my mouth. The lady was talking to me and I was saying something like why did you wake me up? or its too early or something. She said that she tried to wake me up when she saw the gum go down my throat I spazzed for a while and then a little while later I got up. Then it hit me. I asked Am I dead? no answer. I asked again, no answer. Then I yelled it. Yes youre dead. I started to run down the stairs. Phaedra (my dog) was following me. Then I saw another Phaedra. There were two of her, both could see me, but only one could interact with me. Then my cat Ming (from when I was a little kid) came down the stairs. I picked her up and pet her. Moonflower (my current cat) came down too, and of course Ming and Moonflower hissed at each other. Mings claws didnt hurt me at all. Things are starting to get blurry remembering Something happened, but I dont remember. I started to think about Gwyddion (my husband). I had to tell him at work. Odd thing now that I remember itbut I couldnt see my body in front of the computer at first. But I saw it later when Gwyddion came home. Anyways Everything I was picking up was making a duplicate of the original object. I couldnt actually pick up anything but I could pick up like the spirit version of everything, if that makes sense. Well I got my shoes on (spirit form of my shoes) and opened the door outside. I didnt realize this until I woke up but on the inside of my house it was where we currently live but on the outside it was our old house. Weird. Well anyways I started running. Then stopped, thought of my husbands office and all of a sudden I was in there. Gwyddion wasnt. So I thought of Gwyddion and bam I was in a classroom at his work. Bunch of young marines (my husband is a marine that teaches other marines ground radio repair) listening to someone talk and there was Gwyddion in the room, he was also standing behind the desk. I built up some energy and shook the desk and knocked all the papers off of it. That got everyones attention. Then I took papers off other desks and ripped them up. They all knew something supernatural was going on. I grabbed a marker on the whiteboard. It used a lot of my energy but it was the actual marker. I wrote very shakingly on the board:
Gwydn wife dead
Then Gwyddion freaked out and said I have to call my wife! He called no answer. Then he called 911. I mustered up some more energy and wrote on the other board:
lov u He said he loved me too. The dream flashed to him in the house by my side (now I could see my body). He was saying that he was going to miss me so much and how much he loved me. I thought to myself That body isnt me its just a body... I'm over here and I went up to my husband and put my hand on his shoulder. He stopped, and put his hand on top of mine. I woke up thoroughly freaked out. This dream felt INCREDIBLY real you have no idea. It felt so real that I was afraid to sit down at the computer, lol. Man I hope my death doesnt occur by choking on a piece of gum! Well I guess thats more peaceful than a lot of deaths but still. As I was writing this, I figured out that the voice I was hearing was probably my spirit guide. It wasnt anyone I really knew, but at the same time, I knew her and was comfortable talking to her. Now, as I walk around my house I get a weird sense of not being alone. It just feels like I am going to turn a corner and there will be a spirit of some kind, telling me my dream will come true. *shiver*
Ok, I just had to get that out. I've been kind of freaking out a little, and I am not very good at interpreting dreams. Most of my dreams are very whimsical and bizarre, but not real. Like things will happen in my normal dreams that would never happen in real life or things will make sense in my dream that would seem insane in the physical world. This dream was different. It made sense both in the dream world and real. It felt real. It almost didnt feel like a dream, yet at the same time... I was wondering if I was dreaming. What is everyone else's take on this?

Hi Niamh,
This dream could be nothing; it could be that you are under a tremendous amount of stress - I noticed from your signature that you are getting ready to move to Hawaii. From an ex-army wife who was stationed there, I know for a fact this is a huge change! It's a very long way away, and if your family is here on the mainland, you are a bit isolated. It's beautiful and exciting - but there are a few drawbacks. And I'm sure y'all have started thinking about storage and packing and things of that nature; so this huge change could be triggering this "death" dream - as in a death of your current life and onto a new one.
On the other hand: I'm not a big believer in spirit guides, but I definitely believe that your mind can send you messages to alert you to things going on in your body.
You might want to have a physical, just to check things out. I don't want to alarm you, but it never hurts to pay attention to your sub-concious. The swallowing of the gum is faintly reminiscent of the dream of the woman who swallowed the tennis ball - and wound up needing gall bladder suregery; but it also makes me think more of esophogeal problems. Do you happen to have any trouble with acid reflux? If so you could be setting up a nasty ulcer and not realize it.
Examine what you are feeling closely these days, and read whatever Parthena and Lauren and Wendy and all the rest have to say, cause they have been doing this a lot longer than me!

Hi Michelle, thanks for the response
a few comments:
"This dream could be nothing; it could be that you are under a tremendous amount of stress"
Actually, I'm one of the least stressed people you will meet, lol. I am a housewife who relaxes in front of the computer most of the day, lol. I have one class every wednesday... but its not very stressful at all. :P

I'm actually not stressed about this at all. I grew up in a military family, so I know what comes with the territory. I also got into contact with a group in Hawaii on the Marine Base that we'll be staying at, that way I have friends waiting for me.
"so this huge change could be triggering this "death" dream - as in a death of your current life and onto a new one. "
This part I definately can agree with. That could be a possibility.

I think this part probably fits more. I have been putting off going to the doctor for about a year now. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about two years, with no luck. I guess I've been a little afraid to go... afraid to find out what might be wrong. But I havent been stressing about it for a while... maybe my body is telling me to get off my butt and start doing something about it. lol
Well thank you for helping me. It was much appreciated.
I've been feeling better about it... and my husband (the butt that he is) keeps making fun of me for it, lol. Earlier he was pretending to threaten me with gum, lol. Boys... *rolls eyes*

It's kind of funny (ironic, not ha-ha), but I'm getting ready to have gastric bypass surgery; and one of the major things they warned us against is chewing gum. Because if you accidentally swallow it after the surgery, you are no longer able to digest or pass it, the opening is too small. They literally have to go back in and do surgery to remove the gum from your stomach.
Tell your husband that story and see if he makes fun of you anymore!

Niamh, maybe this will help, but I've found that right before I got pregnant (when trying and with accidents) I started having WEIRD dreams about death and such, usually it involved my grandmother. She is 84 and alive, I've been having these dreams since first pregnant 10 years ago.
When i actually was pregnant (not necessarily before I had it confirmed) the dreams turned to dreams about me having affairs. With my 3 girls I had affairs with people we know, with my son it was someone I didn't know (a singer from the Wiggles, EWWWW!)

Thanks, Michelle and Meg for jumping in - I've been very busy at work and it's appreciated! I've also been putting off going to the doctor - actually, I tried despite lack of insurance, but they told me to go to the ER because I'd need tests that they can't do. I'm afraid for reasons other than $1,000 bill......one is that they won't find anything and the other is that they'll keep me. My heart's done this before but hasn't kept it up for this long (4 days). There's also the fear based on past patterns that they never seem to figure anything out with me until it's really severe or too late. I can't get my doctor's saying "You don't look like someone with a heart problem" when he had test results in his hands out of my head
Michelle, you are getting SO good! Niamh, there's a recent article on predictive dreams and while they can't prove them, they do exist. Michelle and Meg have some good suggestions.
Also, people who don't feel stressed are sometimes the most stressed. Life doesn't have to be fast-paced and chaotic for stress to exist, so don't totally write it off. Stress is an emotional energy that can hide in the unconscious, where it finds an outlet in dreams.

Hi Niamh
I'm wondering if you are going to start having some very interesting dreams where you find out information that you wouldn't normally be able to access in everyday consciousness. Keep a dream diary. Some of your insights in that dream were very wise. We are not our bodies, although we normally identify ourselves that way. And yes this lady could be one of your guides. Don't get too wound up by the gum related fatality- though I might be less enthusiastic about chewing gum after a dream like this!
Parthena, do let us know how you are getting on. I didn't realise you had this health problem to contend with as well {{hugs}}

Meg, You crack me up :P. I wrote a reply to you yesterday... but I must have forgotten to press send. :-/ Anyways... in my reply, I mentioned that about 80% of my dreams are of me having an affair... or my husband having an affair, lol. Whats interesting though... is that I was having these "sex dreams" all my life... even as a child. And like you said... a lot of the "partners" were with people I didnt know (or barely knew) and people I had NO interest in being with. My husband and I make a joke out of it all the time. Whenever I have one of those dreams I tell him that I "dream-cheated" on him again, lol. Of course, I'm less enthused when he's the one cheating in my dream. When that happens its an angry "you dream-cheating jerk!" lol.
Parthena, The only thing that I can think of that could possibly contribute stress is the fact that I need to go to the doctor's, but havent. Oh and I just thought of something... We are going to New Hampshire for the holiday season and I'll be meeting my husband's father and step-mom for the first time, and I hear nothing but bad about his step-mom... which I guess can be a little unnerving! lol.
Lauren, I do actually have a dream journal that I made as a teenager. Unfortunately, sometimes I can be a lazy Libra and forget about it. I havent written in it in ages, and youre right, I should pick it up again. And dont worry about the gum thing. I was a little freaked out when I wrote the original post (because the dream had just happened), but now I'm ok... the gum thing is actually kinda funny now, lol. The only thing that is still kinda freaking me out a little is that now I dont feel alone when walking around my house. I keep getting deja vou (sp?) from just simply walking around. When I go down the stairs, it keeps flashing back to my dream when I was coming down the stairs and I saw two versions of my dog, Phaedra.
I think the biggest thing this dream is telling me is to get off my lazy bum and go to the damn doctor, lol. I remember thinking just as I woke up from my dream, "but I havent even had children yet... I cant die", and my whole health situation is based around the fact that we cant seem to get pregnant. That, to me is a definate indication that I need to make that doctor's appt asap.
Thanks for all your help guys! It was much appreciated!

Hi Niamh Glad you're feeling a little less freaked out now! On feeling deja vu & that there are 'two' of you, I wonder if you didn't completely snap back into your physical body after you went astral travelling in the dream. May be worth sitting quietly & calling all of yourself back into the physical, right down to your toes. Also check you are grounded. You can read about grounding here http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art32459.asp

Well in my dream, when I say I had two bodies... I meant my dead body and my spirit body. My dead body wasnt me... it was just an empty body... the real me (spirit me) had already completely left the body. Thats what I meant by That body isnt me its just a body... I'm over here. It wasnt so much that I was astral projecting but rather looking at a lifeless body and trying to tell my husband that the body he was hugging isnt me anymore. I dont know why I couldnt see the body before others knew I was dead... but thats how it was in my dream. weird. :S
I actually already know how to Ground and Center (I do it during meditation and for rituals, and pretty much anything having to do with the astral realm), but thank you anyways .
*hugs* ~Niamh
