I am looking for skeins of yarn in the Jeweltone family, my afghan is about 6-8 skeins short...the color i started with and am most interested in finding is called spectrum, it is a worsted wt acrylic/nylon yarn that is varigated w/colors of cornflower blue, forest green and a medium rose. I'd just add some other colors to finish this, but the jeweltone group is shimmery, and plain colors in a regular yarn just don't look right. If you have any solids in this family, or any spectrum, I would be glad to pay for your shipping and yarn, if you have any you could sell, please e-mail me! I'd sure like to find just a bit more - I've gotten a few skeins mailed to me and am really close. Thank you so much!

Good luck finding them... They've been discontinued since at least 1998. I have four skeins (not Spectrum) that I'm hoarding until I find just the right pattern to use it in.

I wish they'd never discontinued it, that was my absolute favorite yarn of all time, and Spectrum was my favorite color that they had. I made three afghans with it, gave them all away. Was kind of bummed out that I'd never made an afghan for myself out of that color. Just recently one of my afghans came back to me. My great-uncle (grandma's brother) died in 2000, and then my grandmother died in 2004. When my aunt was cleaning out the house earlier this year, she found the afghan I made for my great-uncle, so she gave it back to me. (yay!) I had to wash it several times to get the mothbally smell out of it, but I finally have my afghan crocheted with the JewelTones Spectrum color.

Try thrift shops...Goodwill...garage sales (kinda cold for that) eBay sometimes will have it too..

Big Lots is a good place to look too. I used to have the url to a site that specialized in selling discontinued yarn, but as you guys know, i'm not in my normal office these days and dont have access to my home computer, I think I have it booked marked. I called Coats and Clark and the lady I spoke with there gave me the url. So I know its out there. My most favorite of all time is RH Teal, found some at big lots, started a project, ran out, then found out that it had been discontinued for some time. GRRR!!! it is a lovely color! Wish they'd bring it back.
