Now this has been an annoyance of mine for a long time. I really get annoyed when they just chuck 2 people together. Like Big Show and Kane, they are popular enough to carry single careers. And i think teams should have a joint name to further bond them and make people think of them as a team.
Also while i'm ranting also to do with tag teams, is how tag champs come across the world champ and usually get laid out. Maybe as individuals, but they are a team. The champs should easily overpower one man, even the champ. They are after all apparently the best team out there. There i'm done.

p.s. although that doesn't mean bring the Oddities back

Haha Oddities. They were....uh...different. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I agree. In TNA, tag teams are tag teams. They have a number of very good tag teams that aren't thrown together and that division is taken very seriously.

In WWE, we have the Dicks (Loads of laughs for Vinny Mac with that name), and uhhh...The Mexicools, I suppose but they're more a CW faction. The busted up the Cowboy Team (Cade and the other guy) I think and I can't think of another team besides MNM. They are in my opinion, the best team as far as presentation, persona, and gimmick. They aren't the best wretslers but that's OK. It's all about perception.

I hate the "tagging two guys who hate each other up" gimmick. It's overdone. Show and Kane shouldn't be tagging
and now Batista and Mysterio will be tagging at the next PPV. Argh. Obviously they are protecting Batista's injury and pushing Rey but still..the champ is in a tag match on a PPV? Sheesh.

London and Kendrick were a great team and could be again (I even liked London and Kidman, heck, I just like London!), and so far Regal and Burcill aren't clicking with the fans although Regal is a fantastic worker (not many realize that). I refuse to count the "New LOD" as a team of any kind. Ridiculous. Don't know what happened to the Heartthrobs.

I would like to see a return of real tag teams that stay together for a while.

There used to be the Hardys, Edge and Christian, the Dudleys, The APA (Bradshaw and Farooq), even Hurricane and Rosey, and so many others. Now, it's just a mismash of guys thrown together out of the blue. The tag team division is in big trouble. More teams like MNM are needed and could easily be presented with all the talent avialable but WWE seems to be downplaying Tag teams by squashing them and by putting them on the backburner.

I wonder if they forgot about The Hart Foundation, Rockers, real LOD, The Steiners, Midnight Express, Public Enemy, Dudleys (obviously they didn't care enough to hold onto them), and so many others who worked together for a long time and were over as a team? <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Ahh yes Hart Foundation, i was starstruck as a kid, with their 'cool' glasses and funky colour tights. I liked Demolition as well, pity LOD didn't come to WWe before Crush joined them. THink that would of been good. Oh and British Bulldogs.
The potential to make medium workers into great teams should be taken advantage of, then down the line if they improve enough perhaps then they'll be ready for on their own.

Tag teams should be tag teams but then again in the WWE they don't last that long or Vince turns them into jokes. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard for instance. They were an unstoppable force in the NWA/WCW era and they didnt really make a huge impact when they came to the WWE as the BrainBusters with Bobby Heenan leading them. Oh how I long for the days of the Four Horsemen, the Von Erichs and the Freebirds. You cant forget teams like the Fanstastics and the Kiwi Sheepherders either. We dont need teams like the Dicks, MNM, Heartthrobs, etc... We need teams like Haas and Benjamin, the Dudleys, Edge and Christian and the APA. Please Vince, bring together some quality tag teams and you have about "Three Minutes" to do it.

Bloody oath!

Remember when the first two Survivor serries fielded 5 teams (10men) per side? Remember when there where so many Tag Teams that there where even Pre Lim Tag Teams (Young Stallions, The Shadows, The Moondogs in the late 80's, and my favourites The Conquistadors!)

By the way, THANKYOU Sweet as a Lemon for finally agreeing with me that Demolition were good. Hey! They were. Ax just got old and had back problems. Plus they had to do that stupid mask gimmick.

I remember Pro Wrestling Illustrated did a fantasy Top Tag Team Tournament. From recollection it came down to Demolition and the Road Warriors. Which probably was a just and fair assumption of who the top two teams were at the time.

Now days in WWE aside from MNM, what is there? And as good value as MNM are, even the Islanders and other so so teams of yesterday would push them.

Any Comments?

Couldn't agree more. Why have two sets of tag belts and only one truly viable team on either show! MNM proves that a solid team can be over and that fans WANT to see more tag team action.

They split the Bashams and now we see neither of them. They split Murdoch and Cade, who weren't great but were a team, and now we don't know what's going on with either them. They split so many teams that could make an impact on the tag team division. They have London and Kendrick as a team but have we seen them used? Nope. They have the "Dicks" who are just there so the announcers can say "Dick" a lot. They have the Gymni (sp) who I have no idea about just yet. The Mexicools are around but seem almost invisible when they are out there for some reason. They let the Dudleys go, another viable tag team. I never see the Heartthrobs wrestle in anything but squash matches at best.

I miss the tag teams from before. WWE is starting to get so one dimensional.
