The article was about highly gifted kids and how they're being educated. It certainly did some bashing of "No Child Left Behind" and how that education system seems to be dragging gifted kids down to the level of average kids. You can get the NY Times at any Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, Borders, and most large chain grocery stores (we get it at Albertson's). They often keep the Sunday issue on the stands for the whole week, because it's so popular, so if you wanted to try to find it now, you probably could. They usually cost $5.00 outside of NYC.
