I did a small water change in the tank and read the bottle of water treatment and it only has instructions on dosage for 10 gallons of water. I bought the big bottles because I felt like it was cheaper than buying small bottles and it is not like I won't use it. Plus, I didn't have anything to even measure out a gallon with. Finally I treated 5 gallons of water and that worked fine. I just saved the leftover water in a empty gallon jug for Mr. Fish (my betta). We have fish stuff that is all labeled "FISH". Hubby thinks I am paranoid but I keep telling him you can never be too careful. Plus, if you have to get in the tank you better wash hands well and rinse several times before sticking your arm in the tank. He just decided not to even touch the tank. Probably a good decision on his part!

What brand is it? I have the same issue and mine was Tetra so I called them up. Their recording said that 1 gallon (16 cups) = 8 drops of the water conditioner. So it's easy to figure out from there how much to put depending on the size of your tank.

Hope that helps!!!

I use Stress Coat and their small bottle lists how many drops for betta bowls, but their larger bottles only list for 10 gallons or more. So I bought a small bottle and when that's empty, I just refill it with a larger bottle. Works for me.

Almost all the big bottles I've seen list only 10 gallons. Odd since there are tanks smaller, like mine! hehe
