Welcome to Reptiles and Amphibians Forum!
I'm excited that you've joined us and I hope that you'll sit back and stay for awhile. This thread is the place for meets and greets so be sure to let us know a little about yourself and even your reptile friends.
My name is Christina and I'm the editor of the Reptiles and Amphibians site here on Bella. I'm a vet tech turned free lance writer and artist and well, I love reptiles! My living situation doesn't allow me to keep any herps at this time, but throughout the years I've been privy to keeping chameleons, igs, geckos, turtles, and snakes. I have a great passion for herpetology in general and am always happy to help whenever I can.
At any rate, welcome again and I hope you enjoy your time here! <img src="/images/graemlins/rolling.gif" alt="" />

Hi... I LOVE snakes and other reptiles and amphibians.I eventually want a corn snake or a fat tailed gecko...but I am a HUGE rodent fan and thats what is keeping me back from getting a snake.
The only amphibian I have now is an albino african clawed frog named Zippy.I am hoping to get him a tank mate soon,I am leaning more towards a female,so he will have a mate...
Rat scratches are an honor!

Hi, My name is Vicki. I am thinking about getting my grandson a couple of turtles, which I will be the caretaker of. They will live and reside with me.
I would much rather have 1, but nothing should be alone. Or, would this 1 turtle survive & thrive well alone & by itself?
Oh yeah...I don't know anything about "caring for a turtle." I will be starting from ABC.
Thank you.

Hi all! What I enjoy is that I been running(jogging) for 20 years ann I love all forms of exercise. Love music especially rock. As far as what my occupation is that I work in the worlds largest Dental Company and have been there for 27 years. I like meeting people from Europe because they seem so ladi back compared to USA people. This website is really cool too.

I know this is about 2 and a half months too late, but I'd be happy to give you some advice if you'd like. Have you bought the turtles? Generally speaking, reptiles prefer isolation. They are often more stressed by members of their own species and may only encounter them during the breeding season.
Let me know if you're still looking for info, and I'll help!

Hi Christina and All, I am a naturalist artist...flora, fauna and other small natural science subjects. How did I happen into such an odd niche? Serendipity. As an art major, my weekends were spent sketching in a neighborhood nature center. Staff naturalists there befriended me and asked me to document some of its fascinating collection. I spent that summer rendering to exactitude beetles, lizards, butterflies, dragonflies to the rigid standards required for research documentation. How could I have known that the strict training, so many summers ago, would someday be my lifes work! Cynthia Padilla, Naturalist Illustrator. I'd love to have you view my sketches and leave comments. Click to: Curiosities Exhibits & Nature Drawing Workshops

Hi, I have had reptiles as pets all my life. I volunteered at a major zoo in their reptile house for a couple of years. Then I moved and started working in a museum which had a rainforest. After that I worked at a nature museum educating children and adults on local wildlife. I have worked educating the public on reptiles, their care, and purpose in nature for a long time. I also own several snakes, lizards, and a tortoise, the majority of which are rescues.
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates.-

I aquired my sons iguana who is now 4 1/2 ft long! he is a dear. never thought i'd say that though. but i can never get enough of watching him. though they are a ton of work, both with habitat and food. so please dont EVER think of buying that cute cuddly lil ole green thing at the pet store before totally taking the time to find out what it takes to keep one. and NOT from the PET store.
