According to a recent article out of Honolulu, the Coast Guard has updated it's rules about tattoos for the first time in 30 years.

How do you feel about these rules? Do you think they are fair? What do you think should happen to people who are already in the military who suddenly find themselves breaking the rules due to changes in policy?

I think that these new rules are unfair to the extreme and have, to be frank, [censored] me off so much that I'm not going to attempt to explain why because I would just embarrass myself.

(A point, though: If you're so intimidated by these individuals, think of how people contemplating wrongdoing would feel.)

I often have to point out to people that law enforcement and the military are not places where individual expression and rebellion (the two most common associations attached to tattooing) have ever been viewed as positive.
