I am sure that someone with better Polish than mine (which is about everyone of you!) can come up with a song to sing on Smalec Day to the tune of Sto Lat. You know "Smal ec, Smal ec....." Froza is already ahead of the curve with his own line of Smalec Day cards.

Forza Thank you for the smalec song; it was ......uhm....... interesting and sung as only you are able. (No honestly I did enjoy it). Nancy has told me we cannot have the International Smalec Day of 7 November, so I decree 32 May. Leslie

ooooh, Forza, is that really you? Hollister can play this song at her party and then you will launch a big career in singing! PS. now, if I only knew what the song said ... something about smalec ...

Perhaps Forza will also sing the Sto Lat song for Charles? Is it Charles' birthday too? Or are you as confused as ever Leslie, and mean Frank?

Thank you Leslie, now I know the honey moon is over and time to roll up the sleeves and get to work...
smalec (lard) boy, I have a feeling this is very similar to some thing else I was burned on many years back, and the tast still comes to mind...
Not to confuse this topic with some thing else, but, it begs to be spoken: One word: haggis, would smalec be as, shall we say, interesting? If so, only the heels of my shoes will be seen, other wise, well, once yearly in honor (honour) of, "International smalec Day", as forth with proclaimed by the Honorable Sir Leslie, would not be so bad.
But, now as you know, I am ignorant of the Polish language, what is," STO-LAT? Ah yes, to be ignorant is not a blessing, to be not blessed, is ignorant.

Nancy I believed it was also Charles's and meant to add Franek to Forza's singing - but remember he has been ill! Carry on Forza. Charles Sto lat - Sto lat, sto lat, niech zyje, zyje nam! Jeszcze raz, jeszcze raz, niech zyje, zyje nam! For a hundred years, for a hundred years, May he/she live for us.
I have now gone off you for decrying the haggis and saying it in the same 'breath' as smalec. Haggis is the traditional dish of Rabbie Burns (the world's greatest poet) and my father and for me it ranks at the same high level as black pudding - can't remember the Polish for that latter delicacy - I think Forza told me once but I have lost it (It's my age!) Well, Leslie, now I know the honey moon here is for sure over with, and now to earn my keep...
I did not know this of your father, your self and as the traditional dish of Rabbie Burns. Well now, I most certainly do not want the rath of your self, your father, and that of Rabbie Burns to for ever haunt my bones. So, it appears that Haggis is not such a bad dish as fist emagined.
Now come to remember, at the time, it did take for me an excuse to drink up three glasses of beer (this was at a Daughters of England party held in Edmonds) There were several Scotts people, with an equal number of Irish (I kept track, an old habit)along with many English folks. The piano was being in the process of being beaten by a Scott person (I think) and they were singing some of most horrible songs that were actually fun. They knew how to have fun. Well, a long winded story, but, thought perhaps had better tell it to dig my way out of this self made hole.
What is the saying,,one oh darn, will wipe out a hundred atta boys...
Charles
