To the right of where you enter the Calm Lands (from the south) there's a chocobo feather. Get on a chocobo, ride it up there, and stand on the feather, then press X. It may not happen on the first shot, jumping from the feathers is a little touchy. From where you land, walk to the right and follow the path.
