Where do you present facts to prove that this omission was SAD BUT PREDICTABLE ?

I think those are the words that got me, for one, riled up. Who are you to make such a judgment on people that you do not know?

Well, I think you got so riled you didn't read everything. I said an observation and editorial. The facts are the timeline, and I defy you to refute them. What they mean may be up to debate, but they are what they are. The editorial is that it was sad but predictable, and for me it was. I didn't think the largely "USA Critical" European crowd here (based on the comments of the threads in question) would be so quick to condemn French culture & life, and I was right. Why does that upset so much? I had a feeling they wouldnt; they didn't, so I was right. It was a behavior prediction that manifested itself. Nothing more.

Save your strength for when Eric - a very young, very anti-American American who pretend to be from Russia - comes back into the forum and excoriates us for being pro-American, pro-Polish, anti-Russian idiots.

Well, I don't know any history with Eric and you seem to know much more about him. Some folks are openly hostile, others pretend not to be, but their actions say otherwise. I've just started responding to what I consider "cheap shots" (well, I guess they're just opinions), but when I give the opposite opinion, I'm being "angry and judgmental". Talk about a double standard.

Quote:

Hmm, there are a handful of Europeans here, but I think there are many more Americans.

Maybe, but there were plenty voicing their opinions with what only appeared to be malice, and hence my suggestion. Maybe my perception was wrong, but maybe your perception of me is wrong? Or is it only one way?

Quote:
No, I think most of us were just surprised at how negative and judgmental you appear to be about a group of people that you don't know. Lighten up and have some fun.

Now that's a case of the pot calling the kettle black. I guess it's only judgmental if it contradicts your opinion. If you, Jaga or anyone else would have opened up a thread that said" Are we quicker to criticize America and its culture, then Europe and it's culture", I submit no one would have a problem with it. I suggested that's the way it was, and everyone's in an uproar. Perhaps Im not the one, or at least the only one, who needs to lighten up? Does someone have to be right here, or is there room for different opinions and just leave it be?

GOD I hate politics. I like to keep things as light and if I didnt read another political commentary it wouldnt be too soon. But I don't take insult or insensitive comment well either. I have no malice towards people here, but don't agree with what amounts to the "company line". If I stay away from the political stuff, no one has any problems. So I guess as long as I bite my tongue here and let others rant with immunity, everyone will be happy. So, (outside of this thread) thats what Ill try to do. Good enough?

[quote I don`t respect French cars, they are so unreliable.

Yes of course I had French fries in the French car, that is while we from time to time use the American McDonals drive in, buy French fries there, pour American ketchup on them, when too much we use French serviette. And all these items are made either in Poland or Slovakia or Germany <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hi bescheid, welcome to the forum! I think that we are generally of the same opinion. Right now we should feel as much empathy for the French as we can and try to help them if we can. And we can - at least we can help them morally, can't we? All the best, looking forward to reading more from you.

Hi Adam, thank you so much for your very warm welcom, it is most appreciated. Your insight of French, as I would also suspect in other subjects, is a very well balanced and learned observation. Empathic Understanding, very well put and on target.

paradoxically the French ones are so distant to me, in consequence boring.
Jerzy, your opinion is probably shared by many Poles.

Not by me. But I am curious what makes you feel so?

Because the French are trecherous guys. In one battle, after having crossed the bridge, the French soldiers blew it up, leaving allied Polish troops on the enemy side of the river. All Poles were lost!

I heard this story when I was 10 years old, from a peer guy who was very important to me at the time. I remembered it and today I don`t trust the slick French.
