Baby Not on Board is the book whose author Kim Kenney got to interview. Today, I spent some time at the bookstore reading quickly through it. I like the book. It really made me laugh, but more importantly confirm that the childfree lifestyle IS the one for me. If you need encouragement as a CFer, this book is great for that. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

i was thinking about buying that book myself.enough though i'm adamantly cf sometimes you do need some encouragement and reinforcement. glad to hear from someone who has looked through the book. i actually looked it up on amazon and it was only $7 something.
this is off topic but it's kinda funny.today i was talking to a co-worker of mine and she said"you don't have any kids right?"i said no and she sai " you don't want kids." yup and then she said "you and your husband decided not to have kids."i said right. then she tells me that she just found out recently that she's pregnant with her second child. i said "oh congrats!" and started asking her about the pregnancy and so forth.she really didn't say anything else about the kid thing.i find that if people respect my decision that i'm much more apt to show an interest and ask questions about their kids. i really appreciate people like my co-worker who doesn't bug me about it or try to change my mind. i used to really get annoyed when people would ask the kid question but now i don't so much esp. as long as people respect me. if they don't well then i still get annoyed.

ps. just curious. what sort of topics are covered in the book? i have another great book called"why don't you have kids? living a full life without parenthood" by leslie lafayette. i highly recommend it!

The content covers the major issues, how to tell people your decision to be CF, what can you do while CF that you can't do as a parent, substitutes for taking care of children, and even suggestions for how to leave your name upon the world before you die besides having children (i.e. have a museum dedicated to you).

I went on a little Amazon shopping spree earlier this week and decided to add "Baby Not On Board" to my cart after seeing the bits about the book on this website. I cannot wait to read it.

I'd like to check it out, but I don't need any more encouragement than going out to a movie or taking a plane ride and hearing one of those little ankle-biters screaming its freakin' head off.

I'm not one of those CFers who likes kids as long as they are someone else's. I hate kids, honestly, they are so obnoxious. A kid is just an undeveloped individual, and I don't like anything that isn't close to developed. I like to see things in their fully accomplished state.

No Nose Miners, Thanks.
