Hello,
I have just returned from a 2 week trip to Warsaw. First let me say that it was the best trip I had ever!!!!
Everyone was so nice most people spoke some English enough I could get around. It was a trip for work but we had plenty of time to get out and about. The people and Friends that I made from our plant there were the best. They took us out bowling one night to break the Ice between us and brought their wives along also. We had a blast.

From there we went to a disco club till around 12:30 am and most left but I was asked to stay with a friend I made and his wife and their friends and stayed till 4 am LOL what fun we had. From reading other post here and seeing people wanting to retire there well maybe just because I was only in Warsaw and a small town outside of Warsaw I didn't see much difference in prices of things compared to here. Is it cheaper to live away from these cities? But all in all i will make it back again I loved it and everyone I met..

Hello Fireyrguns,

Welcome to this forum! Sounds like you had a great time in Poland (I am not surprised).

Do you have any Polish ancestry, or was everything totally new for you?

The prices of things are more or less the same everywhere in Poland. It only depends on the kind of shop you visit. Posh shops are expensive everywhere, supermarkets are cheap.

However, Warsaw is the most expensive place to live in. The cost of flats and houses for rent or purchase can be two or even three times as high as in other regions in Poland. It is so because a lot of people come to Warsaw to seek job opportunities. They are willing to pay high prices and stay there.

Thanxs for the warm Welcome. No I have no relatives from Poland was all new to me. Well I brought back 2 bottles of Zubrowka and just drove 68 miles one way for some Zywiec Beer So tonight will be a remembrance to Poland Party!!! I just hope that one day I can make it back to Warsaw. The Friend that I made there has been emailing me and I have His home address also to send him a few things from the US for him. I'm not sure but from a few other people that were out with us there was a couple that were getting married soon and I think I heard her say she has relatives near Reading Pa that have a Polish resturant there that I will try to find next..If anyone knows of the place please give me the name and directions :-)

Love to all of you

Hello, I live near Reading, PA and never heard of Polish restaurant. It might exist, but won't be easy to find. It's nice to hear you enjoyed your stay in Poland. Best regards to you, the forum and to Mrs. JagaBella. George.

Good Polish Cuisine

Anyone who'd go to the Warsaw Cafe expecting a Stephen Starr extravaganza clearly knows nothing about the concept of a Cafe. The Warsaw has an interior reminiscent of an Eastern European cafe - it's small (cozy enough for a party of 4 or 2), has the ambiance of a jazz club while the band is on break and offers a GREAT selection of Polish beers. The best vodka martini is made here (the waiter Peter is the best). The food is served warm, not mouth burning hot. The $6 pierogis are worth the cost. (EVEr try making homemade pierogis? each one is probably worth about $5!) This is where you go for an intimate meal. Take your time and relax. This is not an in-and-out place. Know when you go here it makes for a great first date. Enjoy!

Found this is Philadelphia...called the

Sounds like you had a great trip to Warsaw. I just returned from Poland two weeks ago. Great weather. I was at Ustronie Morskie (on the Baltic), Elblag, Torun and a small village Okalewo. I try to go every year to visit and see relatives. It's a great country with very lovely friendly people.
