Susan, thanks for the suggestion. I have read about it and thought of trying it, but just haven't gotten around to it :->

Do you make an entire cage or just put the wire on the top? Does chicken wire have small enough holes so they can't get their feet through it and reach the bulb?

Howdy ho, mother dear. Here is one of the bulb cages I told you about:

Wow!!! A message from my daughter! Welcome aboard. Thanks for the great information. They look very interesting. I will have to do some research about them and then do an article on pests and include them.

By-the-way, you didn't tell us what your favorite bulb is :->

Well, the only one that I have planted that continues to come back every year is a hyacinth, so I guess I will have to go with that.

Awww how sweet! You two don't live very close huh? One of my daughters lives a couple of houses down (she has our only grandbaby who I babysit every day--being gramma is great) and my other daughter lives about 115 miles from us and she is due to have our second grandbaby any day now! We are so excited.

No, we don't live very close but we do get together a couple of times a year; we both lead rather busy lives. Jen is my oldest and only daughter and I do miss seeing her and wish it could be more often. I also have a son who lived in CA for 15 years and then last year he moved from there to St. Louis. When he lived in CA, he would come home once a year, but now that he is closer, I am hoping he will get home more often. He travels a lot for his job, so I'm not holding my breath :->

It's nice that you are able to babysit for your grandchild. My children were with my parents almost constantly and were a big part of their lives (in both directions). Let me know when your daughter has her baby.

I really enjoy babysitting Tiffany. She is like a little sponge, she never ceases to amaze me! She loves to help gramma do everything.
